BJ Whitmer receives five year probation and house arrest on domestic violence charges

Journalist B.J. Bethel is reporting that former AEW Producer BJ Whitmer has received a sentence with a five year probation and and a 120-day home incarceration in connection with the strangulation and criminal trespass charge he faced involving his ex-girlfriend last summer.

Bethel noted that Whitmer took an Alford plea, which means that he acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict him, but maintains that he is innocent. Furthermore, this also means that Whitmer can have the felony expunged from his record after five years.

Whitmer was arrested back on June 4, 2023, and charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree strangulation. He allegedly entered his former girlfriend’s home, waited for her to get home. Once she was home, he had began assaulting her.

After the news of his arrest, AEW terminated Whitmer’s contract.
