WWE Hall of Famer Sting took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to show support for AEW’s Rebel.
Sting nominated Dustin Rhodes, Mick Foley, Darby Allin, his sons Garrett and Steven and AEW head Tony Khan.
The Young Bucks’ (Matt and Nick Jackson) ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is during the first 90 seconds of their latest Be The Elite episode, which can be seen below.
Nick nominated Jack Perry, Anna Jay, Luchasauris and Brandon Cutler.
The purpose of the challenge is to raise to money and awareness for ALS research. Rebel (real name Tanea Brooks) announced back in April that she was diagnosed with ALS. She has been with AEW since 2019.
Last month, AEW has announced new Rebel merchandise, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to those affected by ALS.
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The disease damages and halts motor signals to voluntary muscles, eventually leading to muscle wasting, paralysis, and respiratory failure. There is currently no cure.
The average survival time for those with ALS is 2 to 4 years from diagnosis, though there are 10 percent of patients that survive for longer than 10 years.
Britt Baker, Gail Kim, ODB, Kris Statlander and Jon Moxley, Renee Paquette have already taken part in the challenge.
