THE ROCK - FAQ
Where did the "Rocky Sucks" chant come from?
In November 1996 an unexperienced Rocky Maivia was brought in the WWF and was given a huge push as a babyface. Most fans couldn't stand him and they were pushed to their limits when Rock won the Intercontinental Title from Triple H in Febuary 1997. After his I-C Title win the fans began chanting "Rocky Sucks" and "Die Rocky Die" at every appearance he made. So WWF officals decided to stop pushing Rocky as a babyface so in mid-1997 when Rocky returned from an injury he joined the Nation of Domination and turned heel.
Shortly after the Nation of Domination stable fell apart, The Rock began to once again get cheers from the crowd and was being pushed as face once again. At the 1998 Survior Series, The Rock overcame the Big Bossman, Ken Shamrock, and The Undertaker to face Mankind in the FINALS of the Deadly Game Tournament for the WWF Championship. In what was the finish from last years 1997 Survivor Series in which Bret Hart was screwed by Vince McMahon, The Rock locked the Sharpshooter on Mankind as McMahon ask for the bell to be rung and The Rock was awarded the WWF Championship thus turning him heel as he joined the "Corporation" with Vince and Shane McMahon.
Where did "Rooty Poo" come from?
"Rooty Poo" was started by wrestler Iceman Parsons in the mid 80's. It
basically means a wimp or loser.
How many times has he won the WWF Championship?
Six times. His first three title wins was when he was a heel in the "Corporation" and the other three were won when he become a babyface after leaving the "Corporation" in June of 1999. He would later win the WCW Championship in 2001 and have a final reign as Undisputed WWE Champion in 2002.
