This week Hijo del Fantasma teased that the El Consejo group was close to a deal with TNA to come to the promotion and that Psicosis and Daga could go as well. It’s actually fairly unlikely and that he was just putting out rumors to get some interest.

– Juventud missed the second match due to being in Ecuador for a show there. Pentagon Jr. replaced him and was pinned in the match.
– La Secta beat the Psycho Circus via a sketchy DQ by the rudo referee Hijo del Tirantes. They said they want a shot at the Trios Titles but Consejo came out and said that La Secta was being sent to Japan by AAA so Consejo were going to get their shot (at Guerra de Titanes assumingly).
– In the Main Event Perro refused to fight his Perro del Mal buddies, Psicosis & Daga, but in the end Psicosis and Daga actually turned on him and attacked him. Parka Negra hit Parka with a Piledriver and all the rudos gang attacked Perro and Cibernetico. Konnan ran out and acted like he was going to help the tecnicos but then Zorro ran out and ran off the rudos. So who the hell is doing the Parka Negra gimmick now?! Ciber said he doesn’t trust Konnan but Perro said they could trust him.

CMLL Closes Arena Coliseo For Rest of 2013
This week CMLL announced that Arena Coliseo would be closed down for the rest of the year and they would start back CMLL events there in January.

* NOTES *
– CMLL introduced Psyco Ripper as an “evolution of Psicosis II” so they aren’t trying to pretend like he’s a different luchador which explains why they didn’t cover up his tattoos. That was probably for the best.
– Volador and Guerrero argued throughout the Main Event but still managed to win when Volador forced Mistico to submit to his own finish in the third fall. After the match Volador shook Mistico’s hand but then Los Guerreros attacked Mistico. Volador tried to help Mistico but got jumped as well. Psyco Ripper and Kraneo ran out to make the save for Volador. Psyco complained that they also save Volador but he is never grateful so Volador just simply walked away. That was a bizarre turn of events. It looks like they are starting a tecnico turn for Volador who has been a rudo since 2010.

Santo Undergoes Surgery
As was reported last week El Hijo del Santo had an MRI on his back this past weekend and due to damage suffered to his spine he will require surgery that is going to force him out of action for at least 7 months. Santo held a press conference for this coming up weekends TxT event and he revealed the news about the surgery there. Santo is calling this hiatus a “temporary retirement” but surprisingly acknowledged that it may turn into a full blown official retirement if he can’t return from the injury. He said that he and his doctors will make the decision of when and if he can return to the ring after he has healed from the surgery. I and allot of other people have our issues with things that Santo has done and said in the past, but I do hope he recovers fully from this as he is a true legend in Lucha Libre.
