Former AAA Luchadora Retires Masked Gimmick
Japanese star Mio Shirai is currently going on a retirement tour working in many of the places she has worked over the years. Years ago she wrestled as the masked Kaguya in Mexico for AAA and this past weekend she did a retirement match for that gimmick against Ayako Hamada as a part of that retirement tour.

The website for AAA’s Lucha World Cup event is up and you can pre-order the event right now for $19. This is the same iPPV provider that handled Rey de Reyes which went well so hopefully this one will as well. I’ve already pre-ordered the event myself.

Argos in TNA
We reported last week that AAA’s Argos appeared at TNA’s Impact tapings last week in an Elimination match. He returned for the next set of tapings taking part in an X-Division Gauntlet Match for the X-Division Title which was won by Rockstar Spud. He is expected to make further appearances as well, and there has been talk that his brother Argenis may show up too.

2015 En Busca de un Idolo Tournament Coming Soon
This week CMLL announced that the annual En Busca de un Idolo Tournament would be returning soon. No one has been announced yet for the tournament obviously or when it will begin but that info should be released soon.

Rush Facing Possible Assault Charges
A big story in Mexico broke at the end of the week about a security guard for Arena Mexico alleging that CMLL star Rush attacked him back in April. The security guard claims that he stopped Rush’s wife from entering backstage because she was not on a list of people that was supposed to be allowed in. Eventually someone relayed the message that it was Rush’s wife and she should be let in and he let the woman go through. Later Rush confronted the security guard and according to the guard Rush punched him and knocked him out. CMLL trainer Hijo del Gladiador held Rush back from doing anything else. There is thought that there may be a history between the guard and Rush. The guard claims he was taken to a hospital, which works with CMLL closely, and told he simply was bruised up. He claims that he met with Chavo Lutteroth and Paco Alonso (CMLL’s owners) and they agreed to punish Rush themselves if he didn’t press charges and not visit another hospital. The guard said that he was still in pain two days later and went to another hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion and possible fracture in his back. Neither Rush nor CMLL have commented on the issue and it is doubtful they will ever.

– Volador and Mephisto, the favorites to win the tournament, eliminated each other and it eventually came down to the brothers Dragon Lee and Mistico II and Virus. At that point it was expected that the two brothers would settle as the last two but Virus shocked everyone by submitting Mistico only to get pinned by Lee. Lee now faces Negro Casas for the Leyenda de Plata next week. Dragon Lee’s stellar 2015 continue as he continues to climb up the ladder in CMLL, shockingly.

Rey Horus Back In EVOLVE
This week EVOLVE revealed the card for their upcoming event on May 30th and luchador Rey Horus is returning to EVOLVE to face Tony Nese. Horus made his debut with EVOLVE earlier last month losing to Caleb Konley on 04/17 and beating Andrew Everett on 04/18. Horus is being touted as a future star by EVOLVE.
