Cody Rhodes Update – 3:10 PM ET

Cody Rhodes announced on his Instagram today that he and Brandi are both currently isolating with “family who have unfortunately tested positive for COVID.”  Rhodes further noted that he will stay in quarantine “as long as needed.”

Dustin Rhodes will step in tonight and wrestle Sammy Guevara for what is being promoted as an Interim TNT Championship.

AEW Battle of the Belts will air live tonight on TNT from the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tonight’s one-hour show will be the first of four events in the Saturday Fight Night Series, which will air quarterly in 2022.

AEW announced on Thursday that due to medical protocols, one of the matches at Battle of the Belts had to be changed. During Friday night’s episode of Rampage, it was announced that Cody Rhodes is not medically cleared to defend the TNT Title. As of this report, AEW has not indicated Cody’s medical issue. However, several media outlets are saying that it is related to COVID-19.

It was announced that Dustin Rhodes will step in and wrestle Sammy Guevara for what is being promoted as an Interim TNT Championship.
