Nick Khan says WWE is not looking to sell despite calls from interested parties

WWE President Nick Khan recently spoke with John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal.

Below are some notes taken from the article.

Khan did say that despite phone calls from interested parties, WWE is not in actively looking to sell.

Khan did go into details as to why some of the major changes inside WWE were made, saying his feeling is that some have lacked knowledge of media intricacies and did not have the attitude that WWE is actually a global content company.

Khan said that the big changes for WWE began during the most recent television negotiations with FOX and NBC Universal, back in 2018.

Khan did not speak about any of the talent layoffs. Furthermore, the article focused on WWE’s current deals with A&E, Netflix and Blumhouse Media for various documentaries and series, in addition to the company’s main strategy of putting out their major live events schedule in advance, and the move of some of those bigger events to Saturday’s, such this weekend’s Royal Rumble in St. Louis, MO.
