AEW’s Double Or Nothing PPV Sets Record For Largest North American Non-WWE Gate In History

According to a new report from Fightful, AEW’s 2022 Double Or Nothing pay-per-view, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada has officially set the record for the largest North American non-WWE gate in history.

The report notes that Double Or Nothing has sold 12,939 tickets, and has made a total gate of $1,145,000 so far. As of this report, there are only 585 tickets left to be sold, despite the event being well over two months away. The previous record holder was the New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor joint show at Madison Square Garden back in April 2019. That show was said to have brought in a gate of $1,100,000.

The pay-per-view, which is set for Sunday, May 29, will be the first time that AEW has been to Las Vegas since the inaugural Double Or Nothing event in May 2019. That PPV took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and had a reported attendance of 11,000. After Double Or Nothing, AEW will hold Dynamite and Rampage in California for the first time ever.

Furthermore, the report also noted that AEW’s Grand Slam Dynamite that took place in 2021 live from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, New York set the record for the highest attended non-WWE event since the January 4th, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro that took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.
