As was first reported by The Ringer, WWE has announced the Steiner Brothers as the next inductees into the 2022 Hall of Fame Class.
The Steiner Brothers first worked together for NWA Mid-Atlantic. The Steiner Brothers then started to team up in World Championship Wrestling in January 1989.
After a contract dispute, The Steiners left WCW in November 1992, with Scott vacating the WCW World Television Championship. They then signed contracts with WWE, making their televised debut as babyfaces in an interview on the December 21, 1992 episode of WWF Prime Time Wrestling.
After the The Steiners left the WWF at the end of 1994, they debuted a year later in Extreme Championship Wrestling on July 28, 1995 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Middletown, New York, defeating Dudley Dudley and Vampire Warrior.
In 1996, The Steiners re-signed with WCW. They feuded with The Road Warriors, Harlem Heat and the Outsiders. After Scott’s heel turn, and joining the nWo in 1998, the team split.
The team reunited in NJPW on July 19, 2002 losing to Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Mashiro Chono. Then the next day they defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kenzo Suzuki.
Rick and Scott also spent time in then TNA (Total Non-Stop Action) Wrestling in 2007 and 2008.
On February 29, 2020, at Dork Funk Jr.’s FC!Bang! promotion in Oscala Florida, The Steiners teamed up with Funk Jr. to defeat Blain Rage, Jake Logan, and Shane Chung in a 6 man tag team match.
The Steiner Brothers have held the WCW World Tag Team Championships, the WCW United States Tag Team Championships, the WWF World Tag Team Championships, the IWGP World Tag Team Championships, and the NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championships.
