Tony Khan held a talent meeting before Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite in Cleveland, OH.
It is being said by F4WOnline, that Khan spoke in detail to talent regarding the new systems and structures recently implemented, as well as recent allegations of contract tampering by WWE.
According to PWInsider, Khan was “very animated and impassioned” during the meeting. He said that the new mechanisms in place were designed to make things better for talents.
Fightful Select notes the meeting took place between 3:00 and 4:00 pm ET. If was further said in their report, other topics discussed during the meeting included working as a team, lines of communication, access to Tony Khan, and the recent rumors of miscommunication and lack of access to Khan. In addition, Fightful reported that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were said to have made it clear their door was always open and could be reached as well. Chris Jericho and Tony Schiavone also spoke at the meeting.
F4WOnline also notes that is was said during the meeting Khan said AEW was in an industry that “had long been dominated by WWE”, and that he had put everything into the company to make things better for the talents. In regards to recent reports that WWE had contacted someone under AEW contract, Khan said Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh sent an email to WWE CEO’s Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan right before the talent meeting saying “not to tamper” with AEW talent.
AEW has gone through recent changes behind the scenes. Sonjay Dutt has been promoted to Vice President of Production and Creative Coordination, QT Marshall is Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination, Pat Buck is Vice President of Talent Development, Tony Schaivone is the Senior Producer and Special Advisor to talent, and former IMPACT star Madison Rayne was brought in to coach the AEW’s women’s division.
