Former WWE female superstar Kairi Sane has made history.
Now going by KAIRI, she became the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion crowned at NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over when she defeated Mayu Iwatani in the main event.
The finish saw KAIRI hit Iwatani with a spinning backfist and then go to the top rope and hit Iwatani with the insane elbow for the win.
Post-Match: KAIRI showed respect to Iwatani. She said she would defend the Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, but was not sure against who. Tam Nakano came out and said she would be the one to face KAIRI at the Wrestle Kingdom show in January. KAIRI and Tam were a tag team at Stardom Flashing Champions.
KAIRI was part of the Kabuki Warriors with Asuka in WWE. She left the WWE in December 2021 after her contract expired.
