WWE’s Seth Rollins says he has two fractures in his lumbar spine

During Monday’s episode of Raw, Shinsuke Nakamura revealed that he whispered, “I know about your back” to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

Later in the show, during a backstage interview, Jackie Redmond asked Rollins asked about Nakamura’s comments. Rollins revealed he has two fractures in his lumbar spine.

Below is an excerpt from Mike Tedesco’s WWE Raw recap of Rollins’ comments regarding his back.

It’s not something he likes to talk about publicly. If they’re being open, he has two lumbar spine fractures. He’s been living with that injury for four years. It doesn’t get better by itself. He doesn’t know what the end game is or how much longer he can do this at the level he’s currently running at. That’s part of the gig. If Nakamura wants to target his injury and take cheap shots with mind games, it’s part of the gig. Nakamura isn’t the first to question his character. If Nakamura wants to bring his family into it, his wife, daughter, and livelihood into it, he better be prepared to face him man-to-man.

During an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive Podcast this past July, Rollins said his back has been giving him issues since 2019.

Rollins is set to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Nakamura at Payback on Saturday, September 2. The event, which will emanate from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA will air live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else, with a start time of 8:00 pm ET.
