UPDATED: Booker T says NXT tag team has left WWE, also says they could show up in AEW

UPDATED 2:05 PM ET

According to a new report on Saturday from PWInsider, The Dyad (formerly known as The Grizzled Young Veterans) leaving WWE is not entirely accurate.

The report also notes the belief within WWE is that they are leaving. However, they are still under contract through October 14. It is also said the tag team is currently still listed on the internal roster.

This report from PWInsider comes after WWE Hall of Famer and NXT color commentator, Booker T said on a recent edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, the tag team was already gone from the company.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and WWE NXT color commentator Booker T said The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid, formerly Grizzled Young Veterans) have left WWE.

Booker also noted that they may be showing up in AEW or may go back to the UK.

“A couple of guys who just exited from the WWE as well. The Dyad, those guys just let their contract run out. They’ll be leaving the company. They may be showing up in AEW, you never know. They may be going back to the UK. Those guys were two of my favorites. I thought they had something good going. I like those guys. I hate to see them go.”

This past April, the tag team had requested their release from WWE, which was not granted.

We had reported last week Dave Meltzer stated on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, the team’s contracts were up and presumed that an angle would have played out on television. However, a source within WWE claimed at the time they had no information as it pertained to the departure of Fowler and Reid.

On the this past Tuesday’s episode of NXT, a vignette aired revealing the pair were no longer a part of Schism, a group they were a part of the past several months.

Prior to being part of Schism, Fowler and Reid were first known James Drake and Zak Gibson and called the Grizzled Young Veterans.

As of this writing, neither Fowler or Reid or WWE have confirmed their departure.
