Former World Tag Team Champions return at AEW Dynasty on Sunday

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) made their return to AEW programming at Dynasty.

The Bucks cost Swerve Strickland his opportunity to win the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley in the main event of Sunday’s pay-per-view event.

Below is an excerpt from Alex Kahrs’ AEW Dynasty recap of how it all went down.

With both men and the ref down, Hangman Adam Page comes down the ramp looking to hit…someone, but he’s not entirely sure as he looks between Strickland and Mox. This allows the Death Riders to intervene, but Page manages to run them off before landing a Dead Eye on the champ! Page is pulled out of the ring by the Death Riders, but The Opps come in to even the numbers and fight them up the ramp. The ref is still down and this allows Swerve to throw the chair at Mox before going up top, connecting with the Swerve Stomp! He’s hurt and the ref is still down, so the pin cannot be made…and suddenly, the lights go out! They come back on…and the Young Bucks are in the ring, landing a EVP Trigger on the challenger! They leave the ring as the ref finally comes to, coming back in the ring as Mox finally makes to cover to pick up the win and retain the World Title.

There have been reports the Young Bucks have been backstage at recent Dynamite events. Prior to Sunday’s return at Dynasty, the EVP’s were last appeared on the October 30, 2024 episode of Dynamite when they lost the World Tag Team Titles to Private Party.
