Rey Mysterio provides an injury update

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio said during a Fanatics Live Signing on Sunday, that he suffered a torn groin, during his tag team match on last Friday’s SmackDown.

“It’s unfortunate that I suffered a torn groin on Friday night at SmackDown and I wasn’t able to perform. Live to fight another day.”

Mysterio teamed with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee, as they defeated American Made’s (Chad Gable, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed). During the commercial break following the match, Mysterio had to be helped to the back.

The 50-year old Mysterio was scheduled to face El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41 Saturday, but was not medically cleared to do so. Rey Fenix substituted for Mysterio, losing to Grande in his WrestleMania debut. If Grande had lost, he was to unmask.
