Per the United States Patent and Trademark Office database, WWE has filed to maintain the trademark for “Edge.” This latest filing shows the application is live and under examination.
In addition, the filing shows WWE’s trademark application, dated November 19, 2024 was accepted by the USTPO on Thursday, May 1, 2025. It is also indicates this new application has met all of the minimum filing requirements to maintain the trademark and now has been assigned to an examiner, is revived and awaiting further action.
Furthermore, per the USPTO, back on April 22, 2025 WWE had abandoned their attempt to maintain the trademark for “Edge” after the USPTO failed to receive a “timely response” to questions regarding WWE’s initial filing made back in November of last year to maintain its trademark for “Edge.”
The USPTO sent WWE a Nonfinal Office Action dated January 6, 2025, giving the company three months to respond to questions regarding the trademark, which were said not to have been met and therefore considered the trademark for “Edge” as abandoned, effective April, 22, 2025.
Now, in a Notice of Revival, dated May 1, 2025 states the following:
“The above-referenced application has been REVIVED and will be forwarded to the appropriate section of the Office for further action.
If the application was abandoned for failure to file a timely response to an Office action, the application will be forwarded to the examining attorney; or
If a notice of appeal was submitted with the petition, the application will be forwarded to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to institute the appeal; or
If the application was abandoned for failure to file a timely statement of use or a request for extension of time to file a statement of use, the application will be forwarded to the intent to
use unit.”
