Shelton Benjamin responds to Hulk Hogan calling him by the wrong name

A 22 second clip hit social media on Tuesday showing snippets of Hogan appearing on Pat McAfee and his recent interview with TMZ, where Hogan calls Shelton Benjamin, “Benjamin Shelton”.

During both interviews, Hogan said Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and “Benjamin Shelton” were some of the guys that came out amateur wrestling and found success in pro wrestling. He also said he was also the first to wrestle Lesnar and got Angle when his eyes were rolling in the back of head.

Shelton took to X responding to Hogan with a Will Smith GIF from the 2022 Oscars and telling Hogan – “You lost me forever with your ‘don’t get caught’ …or as you would call it -‘apology’ speech. So rather than screw up my name and pretend we ever had any sort of camaraderie which we never had. Please do me a favor & [keep my name out of your f—— mouth.”]

MVP even responded by calling Hogan a “pathological lying piece of human excrement.”

The speech Benjamin is referring to was the one that Hogan did in 2018 to the WWE locker room, following being reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame and after making his return to the company. Hogan had been excommunicated from WWE after his 2015 racism scandal. Hogan was heard in a leaked tape using the n-word several times, with him saying that he was a “racist, to a point.”

Benjamin is one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions with Bobby Lashley, with MVP serving as the teams manager. The trio is known as Hurt Syndicate.
