During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, a vignette aired featuring Shinsuke Nakamura.
In the vignette, Nakamura teased that he has formed a new tag team with another wrestler, but did not say who it is. Nakamura was taken out several months ago by the MFT group when they were still together.
After winning the Interim Women’s Championship in a ladder match at SummerSlam Night Two, Chelsea Green was introduced on Friday’s SmackDown as the new Women’s Champion.
Play-by-play announcer Joe Tessitore on commentary introduced Green as the new WWE Women’s Champion. Green came out wearing a shirt that said ‘Permanent Champion.’
Rhea Ripley, who held the title, recently underwent knee surgery for a torn meniscus in her right knee. Ripley suffered the injury during her successful title defense against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy back on May 31.
