Former AEW World Tag Team Champions – FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) are the new Undisputed British Tag Team Champions.
FTR defeated Cowboy Way (Thomas Shire and 1 Called Manders), in what was a bloody match between the two teams, which was held at OVO Wembley Arena in London. FTR have not been seen on AEW television since dropping the AEW World Tag Team Titles to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage back at the Double or PPV Nothing back on May 24.
This past June, Harwood took to social media noting he and Cash Wheeler decided to step away and take some time for themselves and their for our families. Harwood did mention that he and Wheeler would be competing at the Appalachian Mountain Wrestling show in Corbin, Kentucky on August 22, squaring off against The Good Brothers and then on August 29 at the RevPro UK event to challenge for the Undisputed British Tag Team Titles.
It was also reported in June from Bodyslam.net that FTR were approaching the option year of their four-year deal they signed with AEW back in 2023. It was also said that FTR believes their value and consistency over the last several years should place them among top-tier acts financially in AEW and there was “preliminary interest” from WWE communicated via mutual contacts. However, it was added there was no indication a departure from AEW is imminent beyond their current option year.
