Fightful Select is reporting that barring any unforeseen circumstances, former WWE United States Champion Ilja Dragunov is expected to sign with AEW.
It was also said that it has not been fully confirmed whether Dragunov has officially signed his contract yet, but his signing has been in the works with only final details needing to be nailed down.
Dragunov left WWE when his contract expired last month, choosing not to renew his deal and leave the company, thus making him a free agent with no 90-day non compete clause.
Fightful further notess that Dragunov will be able to continue using “Ilja” (which is his real first name), but they are unsure about “Dragunov”, despite him using that last name throughout his career prior to joining WWE.
