Fightful Select has published a new report with more Sami Callihan’s departure on Wednesday from TNA Wrestling.
Callihan revealed on Wednesday that when got a phone call from TNA Management, he thought it would be for a position in creative. Instead he was informed that he was being released.
According to sources Fightful Select spoke with both on the TNA roster and staff., Callihan was said to have been well respected backstage as a producer and agent. It was also said several talent reportedly had been advocating for months to see him added to the creative team, with many viewing him a someone who has been a valuable voice backstage.
Fightful Select also said that after Callihan retired in 2025 from active in-ring competition, he was also heavily involved in TNA’s marketing, was a key factor in seeing the resurgence of TNA merchandise and was responsible for designing and producing most of the company’s merchandise over the past year.
The report concluded by noting that Callihan is expected to remain active in the wrestling business and will continue operating and producing events for his independent promotion, Pro Wrestling Revolver.

Tommy Dreamer and TNA also parted-ways and the company confirmed the release of Tessa Blanchard.
