The first blockbuster match has been announced for Cruel Summer in
Winnipeg on August 12th!
CWE’s Mentallo vs. Ring of Honor’s Roderick Strong vs. Dragon Gate
USA’s Jimmy Jacobs
Canadian Wrestling’s Elite is proud to announce a mega match featuring
3 of independent wrestling’s top stars for August 12th in Winnipeg,
Manitoba.
CWE has listened to its fan base and after countless e-mails is proud
to present Roderick Strong for the first time in Central Canada.
Roderick has developed a cult following across the globe with many
memorable matches in Ring of Honor and presents a very innovative hard
hitting offense. Roderick increased his following with a stint with
TNA Wrestling, appearing in the first ever match on TNA’s Spike TV
debut.
On one side of Roderick will be Jimmy Jacobs of the rival Dragon Gate
USA promotion. Jimmy competed in ROH for many years collecting 4 ROH
Tag Team titles during his stay. After controversy struck the ROH
office former management started up shop with the Dragon Gate
promotion out of Japan, creating Dragon Gate USA as well as an
independent company by the name of the EVOLE. Jimmy Jacobs has been a
focal point in both companies and has found great success. Pride will
be on the line as both Jimmy and Roderick try to do their company
proud!
The wildcard in the match is the cornerstone of CWE, “The Galaxy’s
Own” Mentallo. CWE started as a monthly Winnipeg venture and has
exploded across Canada touring 22 Canadian cities over 3 provinces and
Mentallo has been the go to guy every step of the way. Mentallo has
found the same success in Japan as of late as he has had in CWE since
the very beginning and most recently won himself a CWE contract
allowing him any match at anytime against any opponent. Mentallo has
not been pinned or submitted in CWE’s 19 month existence. With the
caliber of opponents in this 3-way dance could we very well see an end
of an era? Will Mentallo have to use his contract to avenge a
potential loss after August 12th?
Two of the United States most prominent promotions go head to head
with Canada’s Elite wrestling brand in a can’t miss showdown in
Winnipeg!
