WSU On The Road Winter 09 Update

As WSU gears towards the huge WSU Third Anniversary Show on 3/6 in Union City, WSU, the womens wrestling promotion that runs more women wrestling shows than any other promotion today, has announced several “On The Road” matches.

WSU Championships have become the most sought out championships in womens wrestling today. To be a champion in WSU you have to be at the very top of your craft and one of the best. WSU champions defend their championships more than any other women wrestling champions on the independent scene. Championships are not a prop but are a crown jewel signifying supremacy & dominance.

Several promotions have recognized WSU Championships as the premier championships in womens wrestling. WSU has been featured at our big brother promotion National Wrestling Superstars (NWS), EVOLVE (EvolveWrestling.com) ACE Pro Wrestling (ACEProWrestling.com), Forgotten Championship Wrestling (FCWrestling.net), Johnny Rodz’s World Of Unpredictable Wrestling (WUWOnline.com), New Horizons Pro Wrestling in Australia (NHPWWrestling.com), Impact Championship Wrestling (ICWZone.com), DragonGate USA (DGUSA.tv) & many other promotions. WSU is proud of our working relationships and are currently in negotiations to bring the best female wrestlers to other quality promotions.

WSU World Champion, Mercedes Martinez has now surpassed Angel Orsini as the longest reigning & defending WSU champion in WSU history. Martinez has won 16 consecutive singles matches since becoming WSU World Champion. Martinez is currently in training for the first ever RAIN/MARTINEZ match in WSU at the 3 Year Anniversary Show on 3/6. If Martinez wins this match, she will become the first wrestler in WSU to hold the championship for over a year. However, it looks like the Rain era has already begun in WSU & no one has been able to stop the current AAA star.

Whatever the result of the huge championship match between Rain & Martinez on 3/6, the WSU World Title has been booked in two other promotions. On 3/13 at EVOLVE in Rahway, NJ, Mercedes Martinez will be defending the WSU World Title. If Rain wins the world title on March 6th, EVOLVE fans will be getting a WSU World Title rematch between Rain & Martinez. If Martinez is able to turn back Rain on 3/6, an opponent will be named later for this event.

The WSU World Title has also been booked for March 19th for ICW at the Elks Lodge in Queens, NY. Due to our wrestler’s travel schedule and not knowing ahead of match outcomes, no talent has been booked yet, although we’ve been assured that Martinez & Rain both have 3/19 available on their calendars. We will have more on this event after the WSU 3rd Anniversary show.

However, we are looking too far ahead. Before we get to the WSU Third Anniversary show and WSU World Title matches beyond 3/6, WSU is proud to announce two more “On The Road” matches.

On 2/6 at National Wrestling Superstars in Edison, NJ, WSU Tag Champion Angel Orsini takes on Sumie Sakai!

On 2/13 at ACE Pro Wrestling in Union City, NJ, WSU Spirit Champion Alicia defends against Jana.

Sumie Sakai finally made her WSU debut on 12/12. This Japanese import had success in the northeast earlier in the decade, but left wrestling for a career in MMA. Although finding success in MMA, Sumie could not forget her real true love – professional wrestling.

Sumie Sakai was upset by Amber O’Neal on 12/12 during the “AWESOME CHALLENGE” DVD taping. However, Sumie has bigger and better plans for herself in WSU. Sumie has her eyes set on championship gold and has asked for this match.

Through her interpreter & head of WSU production Jason Koba, Sumie said:
“I have been following WSU from day one. I like how WSU respects their wrestlers and championships. I have noticed that ever since winning the WSU Tag Championships Mercedes Martinez has been defending her World Title so many times that she has no time to defend the tag championships with her partner Orsini. I will change that. I want to put out an open challenge to the WSU tag champions with my mystery partner. Please accept Orsini & Martinez.”

WSU officials, upon hearing Sumie’s statement, have agreed with Sumie. On 2/6 at NWS in Edison, NJ, Sumie Sakai will take on WSU Tag Champion Angel Orsini. If Sumie wins, Sumie & a partner of her choosing will take on Orsini & Martinez at an upcoming event for the WSU Tag Team Titles.

Here is all the information on the NWS 2/6 event with this special challenge match:

Saturday night February 6th, NWS returns to Edison, NJ’s St. Matthews School Gym (81 Seymour Avenue, just off Plainfield Avenue between Routes 1 and 27) with a 7:35pm bell time. NWS makes its first area appearance of 2010, as part of the always-anticipated annual St. Matthews show. In addition to an encore appearance by Duggan, St. Matthews will see its first ever Money-In-The-Bank Ladders-Tables-and-Chairs Match that night, featuring no less than three NWS title holders… NWS Tag-Team Champion Corvis Fear, NWS Jersey Shore Champion “G.Q.” Myke Quest, and NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans. The goal is to climb a ladder and retrieve a briefcase hanging high above the ring which contains a reward, while avoiding getting smashed by tables, chairs, and the same aforementioned ladder. This is one you don’t want to miss. And speaking of not-to-be-missed attractions, St. Matthews will also play host to the 800+ pound undefeated tag-team The Nigerian Nightmares, who made their NWS debut in the Edison area last year, and have come back looking for fresh meat. Plus, the one-time ECW star The Zombie, “The Cold-Hearted Playa” Danny Demanto, local tag-team favorites The BS Express, J.T. Highlander, Ryan Rumble, and other regional and local pro mat stars will lend their support to this benefit card. And what St. Matthews show would be complete without everyone’s favorite mascot Matty The Leprechaun and popular coach Darren Venture. Tickets are only $18 for ringside seats and $15 for bleacher seats.

Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

Women’s Superstars Uncensored (WSU) Spirit Championship Match Announced!

As WSU anticipates the Third Anniversary Show, we will make a stop at the venue where the 3rd Anniversary show is taking place on March 6th, when WSU Spirit Champion Alicia returns to the ACE Arena where she will defend the WSU Spirit Championship against Jana on 2/13 at “Valentine’s Day Massacre”.

Alicia and Jana are no strangers to each other and have had parallel careers. Both got their training at the IWF wrestling school in NJ. Looking for greener pastures, both moved on from IWF and sought out gold all over the east coast. Both women traveled together in the early stages of their career looking for the best competition possible.

In 2007, Women Superstars Uncensored was born and both of these athletes quickly signed up to be on the debut show, which occurred on 3/3/07. Jana found success with Latasha as part of the Soul Sisters tag team. Alicia would go on to become the face of WSU and would become the first ever WSU World Champion.

Since 2007, both of these wrestlers have had interesting careers. Alicia became the first ever Triple Crown Champion in WSU when she collected the WSU Spirit championship in a brutal match with Brittney Savage on 12/12/09. Jana actually is a former WSU Spirit Champion, winning the championship on 10/3/09. However, Jana lost the championship on 10/10 to Latasha in an Empty Arena match. Now, finally, after four months of not getting a rematch, Jana will finally get her chance to become a 2-time WSU Spirit Champion.

Both Alicia & Jana are no strangers at the ACE Arena, as both have wrestled under the ACE banner before and are regular members of WSU events at the ACE arena. However, for the first time ever, these two will hook it up in WSU at ACE’s 2/13 event for the WSU Spirit Championship.

This match can have serious implications on the WSU Third Anniversary show on 3/6. If Jana is to win the championship, it means Latasha will have a chance at the Spirit championship on 3/6. It also means Brittney Savage would not get her title rematch on 3/6. You have to wonder what Savage & Latasha are thinking about this match, and perhaps are rooting for their opponents at the anniversary show to win this match.

Jana & Alicia know each other very well, as a result of training together and traveling together. Jana knows she must avoid the sit-out hiptoss of doom and the michinoku driver from Alicia. Alicia knows she must avoid the Jana-vice at all costs, as no one has ever broken out of this hold.

Come join us for this monumental WSU Spirit Championship defense on 2/13.
