NWS Internet News Update For Week Of 04/25
NWS Returns To Action This Weekend After Easter Break With
“Cool” Headliner, Huge Multi-Legend Show In Late May, And More.
Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what’s happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation’s leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.
Upcoming Shows This Weekend
This Saturday night April 30th, NWS returns to the very popular (and frequently sold-out) Brick, NJ Elks Lodge (2491 Hooper Avenue, just off Route 70 & the Brick Plaza, minutes from the Parkway) with a 7:35pm bell time.
Former WWE TV mega-star the apple-eating cool-talking Carlito will headline big-time pro wrestling’s returns to its most popular Jersey Shore venue. This will be Carlito’s first-ever Jersey Shore appearance, and you definitely do not want to miss it, but you also don’t want to miss Jersey Shore favorite and former NWS Heavyweight Champion Ray-Ray Marz battle ROH star Judas Young for the number-one contender spot, as Ray looks for one more opportunity to win back the gold, and Judas looks for his first golden opportunity in NWS. Brick will also be the setting for some major grudge matches that have been brewing on the Jersey Shore for months. Former area police officer “The Bounty Hunter” Johnny Ringo has been locked in a bitter feud with the hated “Canadian Hockey Goon” Rocco Dorsey. Their last encounter in March turned into an out-of-control affair, and this time around, NWS officials hope to keep control of the match by surrounding the ring with other wrestlers in Brick’s first ever Lumberjack Match. Another grudge from the last Ocean County area show in March had local favorites The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea) and Jersey Shore lunatic Slayer locked in a wild six-man tag-team brawl with Jumping Joey Janela and Bobby Youngblood and “Corrupted” Corey Havoc. This time around, NWS officials hope to be able to keep them under control by having them wrestle in three separate one-on-one matches, as Slayer will battle fellow high-flier Janela, Mike Dennis will take on Bobby Youngblood, and strongmen Chris D’Andrea and Corey Havoc will face off.
Also in Brick will be former ECW brawler The Equalizer, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans, “Atomic Dog” Ali, international star Danny Inferno, Father Ozzy, Christino, “Ice-Fire” Steve Zapf, and much more. Tickets are only $21 for adults and $19 for kids and seniors. Tickets for this weekend’s shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remainig seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

Other Upcoming Shows
Friday night May 6th, NWS returns to another popular venue in central Jersey, the Manville, NJ V.F.W. Hall (600 Washington Avenue, just off Main Street, minutes from Routes 28 and 287) with a 7:45pm bell time.
He’s pro wrestling’s only Olympic gold medalist, a former WWE superstar and a current TNA TV superstar, he’s held every major championship in both WWE and TNA, and he’s literally the bar by which all other wrestlers seem to be measured against these days… he’s the one and only Kurt Angle, and he’ll be part of a huge pro wrestling spectacular coming to central Jersey’s most popular venue.
In addition to the legendary Kurt Angle, another TV superstar coming to Manville is a second-generation star from one of pro wrestling’s most famous families, a former WWE Intercontinental and Tag-Team Champion (and talk show host), the one and only apple-spitting cool-talking Carlito. And there’s even more… a member another famous pro wrestling family, Smith Hart (the oldest brother of former WWE legends Bret Hart and the late Owen Hart), will be making a special guest appearance in Manville. In addition to the legends, regional and local pro mat talent will shine in Manville. In a grudge match that has been brewing for months, Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare will challenge fellow high-flying NWS Cruiserweight Champion Spyral for his coveted belt. NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea) will also defend their titles, against the duo of “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie & “High Definition” Chris Steeler.
Plus, Manville will see its first Lumberjack Match in a long time, as wrestlers will surround the ring to try and keep the bitter rivalry between local favorite Rich “Ice Pick” Lowinski and ROH star Judas Young in the ring, as these two enemies will try and settle their differences once again. There will also be appearances by NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans, international star Danny Inferno, Team Thunder Horse (Indian Chief Draven & “The Warrior” Jack Spade), manager Romulus The Great, and much more. Tickets are only $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors.

Saturday night May 7th, NWS makes its annual appearance at North Middetown, NJ’s St. Catherine’s Church Gym (5 Shore Acres Avenue, just off Route 36 in the North Middletown section of Middletown, NJ), with a 7:35pm bell time.
And if you couldn’t make it to Manville the night before (or even if you could, and just want to see them again), former WWE legends Carlito and Kurt Angle, as well as Hart family member Smith Hart, will treat the Bayshore area fans by making just one more appearance for NWS. In addition to the legends, regional and local pro mat talent will shine in Manville. NWS Heavyweight Champion and Middletown resident “Rampage” Rogers will defend his title against Hazlet tough guy “Outlaw” Shane O’Brien, NWS Cruiserweight Champion Spyral will defend his title against popular northeast star Johnny Knockout, and NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea) will defend their titles against Middletown’s Jumping Joey Janela & his Delaware loudmouth partner “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie. In addition, another Bayshore resident, former NWS Heavyweight Champion “Corrupted” Corey Havoc, has declared that NWS isn’t big enough for him and fellow big man and former ECW brawler The Equalizer, and has challenged him to a “Loser-Leaves-Town” Hardcore Match. All this plus appearances by the undefeated 900-pound behemoths The Nigerian Nightmares, Michael Reigns, Shock, and much more. Tickets are only $20 for ringside seats and $18 for bleacher seats.

Saturday night May 14th, NWS returns to the Union County area at the Kenilworth, NJ Veterans Center (33 South 21st Street, just off The Boulevard, minutes from The Parkway) with a 7:35pm bell time.
The Union County area wrestling fans will be treated to another night of hot pro wrestling action, once again courtesy of popular northeast promotion National Pro Wrestling Superstars. One of two TV legends stepping between the ropes that night will be a former ECW and WWE hardcore icon. He’s been referred to as “The Innovator of Violence”, as he has been in every conceivable type of no-holds-barred match (many of which were conceived by him), the one and only Tommy Dreamer. And sharing the top billing (and probably aiming to have most of it, as he always did) will be the self-professed “Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time”, the former WWE singing sensation (again mostly in his own mind) The Honky-Tonk Man, who after too long of an absence will make his return to NWS in Kenilworth that night. But what the area fans are buzzing about, just as much as the two legendary headliners, is what is being billed as the final showdown between ex-friends (now bitter rivals), “Tough” Tony Scorace and Steve “The Gipper” Gipke, as they will attempt to settle their differences once and for all in the ring, with wrestlers surrounding the ring in a Lumberjack Match.
The fans will also be treated to a six-man high-flier showdown, as Union’s own NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea) team up with rising phenomenon The Jersey Kidd against arch rivals “Too Hot” Steve Scott & Nick Talent and their partner the NWS Cruiserweight Champion Spyral. All that and much more! Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.

Saturday night May 21st, NWS returns (after a long absence) to the South Brunswick, NJ High School Gym (750 Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction, minutes from U.S. Route 1) with a 7:35pm bell time.
And to make up for their long absence, NWS is bringing not just one TV wrestling legend, or two, or even three… but *SEVEN* (count ’em) former WWE & ECW TV stars will be in South Brunswick, in the likes of former “Spirit Squad” member Kenny Dykstra, The World Famous TV Wrestling Clown, “Dastardly” Danny Doring, Gene “It’s Not My Fault” Snitsky, “The Master Of The Stinkface” Rikishi, Nikolai Volkoff, and recently-inducted Hall-of-Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. There will also be a match for the vacated NWS Jersey Shore Championship, and NWS Tag-Team Title match, and much more. You may never see a collection of legends like this at one show again, so make your plans to be there Tickets are only $25 for V.I.P reserved ringside seats and $18 for bleacher seats.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
