Nash: It’s ‘all about the money’
The wrestling world knows by now that Kevin Nash is back in WWE – and preparing for a showdown with longtime friend Triple H.
Here’s a hint as to what the motivation may turn out to be: “You’re right that it’s all about the money.”
Those were the words of Kevin Nash to AWE fans at the end of his main-event match at Oct. 15 Night of the Legends pay-per-view against Ricky Morton of The Rock-n-Roll Express.
The heat between Nash and Triple H in WWE is likely to also be “about the money.” Remember that the tensions between the real-life best friends began when Nash interfered in the main event at SummerSlam after claiming to have received a text message from Triple H requesting that he do so, in the process costing C.M. Punk the WWE title.
It turned out that Nash had sent himself the text, and in the weeks since Nash and WWE executive John Laurinitas have developed an allegiance that now has Nash back under contract with WWE with Laurinitas signing off on that move.
So Nash got his way – with a lucrative deal with WWE the reward for throwing his best friend under the bus.
Similar tensions are still the talk of Nash’s departure from AWE. CEO Marvin Ward has consistently denied reports that the two were at odds on Nash’s way out the door, but inside sources have said that Ward was getting fed up with Nash’s antics, most notably his use of a steel chair to attack Morton at the Sept. 17 contract signing for the main event of the AWE Night of Legends pay-per-view.
The attack reportedly caused some friction between Nash and Ward that night at the house show in Woodstock, Va., where it all went down, with things getting so heated between the two that Nash left the building before the show was over. Ward was attacked by The Rock-n-Roll Express in the ring later that night, with Diamond Dallas Page making the too-little, too-late save after Ward had suffered a broken arm, putting him on the sidelines for the main event at Night of Legends.
Nash used his influence to secure the services of DDP, another longtime friend, as his “mystery partner” for the tag-team match, then a couple of hours before the event made another request to Ward that the match be changed to a singles’ match pitting Nash and Morton one-on-one.

Nash dominated the match with Morton, but was clearly frustrated at his inability to get the 1-2-3 on Morton after using several finishers, and eventually left the ring and lost by countout.
Before leaving, he grabbed the house mic and told fans he didn’t “give a damn” if they didn’t like him or not.
“Shut your mouths, keep buying my dolls, buying my T-shirts,” Nash said. “The economy might be bad, there’s a lot of you out there suffering, but guess what? I ain’t one of them.”
