Indy News #3: October 29 (PTW)

PTW sent this in:

* Power Trip Wrestling present ‘First Time, Last Time, Only Time’, Saturday 28th November 2009, Luton *

With the sound of Bon Jovi playing neighbour annoyingly loud in the world famous PTW Office, we can now bring you the in depth written preview of Power Trip Wrestling’s last show of 2009…..

PTW Cruiserweight Title Triple Threat Match :
PTW Cruiserweight Champion D-Mon VS ‘Firestorm’ Gino Perri VS Scott Annette

The main event of the evening, and it sees PTW Cruiserweight action, and a PTW Cruiserweight title defence. The champion, D-Mon. The former champion, who D-Mon defeated for the title in Corby in September; Irish star Scott Annette. And the recently turned bad, overconfident young star ‘Firestorm’ Gino Perri. This one has everything it needs, high flying action, along with mat wrestling too. The match will be fought on the floor, in the air, and all around. Does the advantage go to the challengers, as PTW Cruiserweight Champion D-Mon does not need to be pinned to lose the match and the title? Can the mysterious Mexican star hold on to the belt, via his ‘Super Chilli Chin Shot’ superkick? Will Scott Annette regain the title and take it back to Ireland with him once more? Can Gino Perri pull off an upset victory? You’ll have to be there to find out.

‘First Time, Last Time, Only Time’ :
PTW Promoter Petey Staniforth VS ‘100 Percent’ Dan Edge

The match everyone is talking about. Petey Staniforth swore that in this life, there was one thing he would NEVER do. And that, was wrestle in the ring. He’s put every single obstacle and problem in the way of this happening, forcing Dan Edge to go through a long list of hand chosen and picked by Petey himself opponents over the summer months. These two former best friends are set to collide. But what ever happens, this is quite simply the ‘First Time, Last Time, Only Time’. Dan Edge didn’t fight this hard and this long to get Petey into a ring for a wrestling match, just to lose. Petey Staniforth didn’t break his well known vow that he would never wrestle in his life, just to lose. And the biggest twist of all? ‘The First Lady of PTW’, Chrissie, has just exclusively said that there will be an ADDED STIPULATION to the match on the evening of the show; that she will announce herself in the ring at the start of the show. This is possibly, however crazy it might sound, the most anticipated match in PTW history, with no less than thirty one months of build up to it happening. They’ll talk about it forever….but it will only happen ONCE. You simply can’t afford to miss this one.

PTW World Tag Team Match :
Druss & Danny Dynamite (c) VS ‘The Stevens Brothers’ – Tommy & Danny Stevens

After the mysterious disappearance of Mayhem in the summer, it was allowed by the PTW Office for Danny Dynamite to choose a partner to defend the PTW World Tag Team Titles with, and he chose ‘The Monster’ Druss. In something of a oddity to say the least at PTW, this match up pits two “bad guy” teams against each other, as in their willingness to take on any team PTW can offer; they have chosen to defend the championships against the newly reformed team of ‘The Stevens Brothers’ – Tommy & Danny Stevens. Don’t mistake Druss & Dynamite’s intentions as good or honourable in this, as all they care about is showing the world they’ll beat up anyone put in front of them. The ‘Hardcore Alcoholic’ Tommy Stevens, & Danny Stevens; are looking to capitalise on the reforming of their tag team from years gone by, and are hoping to take the gold back with them.

PTW British Title Match :
* PTW British Champion G ‘The LapDancing Superstar’ VS Marcus Phayer *

Since a rather eventful summer where he won the PTW World Title in Rushden in July, but then lost it in August to current champion Conor Hurley, and then won the PTW British Title in August; the PTW British Champion G ‘The LapDancing Superstar’ has certainly had an eventful year to say the least. Nothing G ever does is done quietly, and he is set to take on an interesting challenger; in Marcus Phayer. The popular Phayer is now on his second shot at the PTW British Title, as he took on Sean Midnight earlier in the year when Midnight was champion; and he will be looking to take the gold on this occasion and prove his point that he is worthy of holding the championship.

Six Man Tag Team Match :
* Sean Midnight & Donny Bull & Ricky Rave w/Tracey Kilby VS Nemesis (Scumboy Dani Graves & Prodigy) & Chris Coruso *

This six man tag team encounter is an interesting one to say the least. One one side, the profoundly deaf Sean Midnight (with his manager Tracey Kilby in his corner), are just coming off of recent BBC2 television exposure on the programme “See Hear”. Also on their side, is the returning for the first time since the summer, 400 plus lbs Donny Bull, and their partner; the rookie sensation Ricky Rave. On the other side of the ring, the team of Nemesis (Scumboy Dani Graves & Prodigy) who most certainly have a grudge with Midnight; and their partner who is making his PTW debut on this evening, Chris Coruso. This match has a lot of combustible elements in it, and is set to be a very exciting contest!

Two Big Men Collide :
* Mason Storm VS Adam Steel *

Two of the biggest men in PTW are set to clash heads in this match. Mason Storm has been on quite a destructive streak since his re-emergence in the company this summer, and only just came up short in a title match against PTW World Champion Conor Hurley in September in Luton. He will be without the managerial services of Petey Staniforth in this match though, due to Petey having other situations to deal with. Adam Steel is known in the North of England, particularly for his time in 1PW, and is one of the most physically imposing wrestlers that this country has to offer. Will the venue be big enough to hold this fight down?

Tag Team Action :
* ‘Ultimate Underdogs’ – Valek & ‘Cowboy’ Adam Hayes VS American All-Star & Del Rico *

In a tag team match, the new team that has recently been dubbed the ‘Ultimate Underdogs’, Valek & ‘Cowboy’ Adam Hayes, will take on the veteran American All-Star, and his partner on this night who is no stranger to tag team wrestling; Del Rico. Valek and Hayes are two young and hungry wrestlers who are loved by the fans for their never say die spirit and determination. All-Star and Del Rico have three things in common, a total lack of respect for the fans, a willingness to cheat, and a past working relationship with Petey Staniforth. Who will come out the victors in this match?
