Indy News #6: September 9 (Lethal)

Shannon Rose sent this in:

Celebreality, Wrestling Star Matt Riviera and TNA Superstar on Collision Course

(Russellville, AR) ? The anticipation is building as two wrestling stars are set to shake the ring on September 12 in a special event that will benefit local charity.

Matt Riviera, a Russellville native and one of the most confident men in pro wrestling, is just days away from taking on TNA Superstar ?Black Machismo? Jay Lethal. Mid-South Wrestling is putting on the card, dubbed ?Russellmania.?

?There’s only going to be one ?true? old school wrestler in the ring on the 12th,? Riviera said recently. ?And it won?t be Jay Lethal.?

Riviera has been annoyed with Lethal’s attempts to portray himself as an ?old school? wrestler.

?Pretenders,? Riviera says of wrestlers like Lethal. ?But that’s OK. It?ll be fun to ‘school? him in front of my fans and friends and family.?

Riviera recently charmed and wowed audiences on VH1 while starring in one of the network’s reality shows, and he’s chomping at the bit to show off his acclaimed skills in front of a hometown crowd.

?I?m true old school. Lethal’s a cheap imitation,? Riviera says of his match.

Riviera is not only a pro wrestling star and VH1 sensation; he also produces movies and acts.

In addition to the headliner featuring Riviera, the card contains an International Title Match between champion The Atomic Dogg and challenger Tim Storm.

There’s also a ladies? match pitting Malia Hosaka and ?The Goddess of Wrestling? Athena.

?Nature Boy? Buddy Landel returns to the ring, and others in action will include Jeff Jett, Prince Al Farat, and many more.

The event is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of the Arkansas River Valley.

?Russellville did a lot for me,? Riviera says, ‘so I want to do something in return.?

Riviera didn?t stop there.

?Can?t disappoint the ladies, either!,? Riviera says of his adoring female following that is sure to be out in full force.

The action takes place on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8:00 p.m. at LV Williamson Boys & Girls Club in Russellville.

Ticket prices range from $5-20, with kids ages 5 and under getting in for free.
