Former WWE star MVP debuts at ROH Road to G1 Supercard event Friday night in Houston

Former WWE star MVP made his debut at the Ring of Honor Road to G1 Supercard event Friday night in Houston, Texas.

MVP was revealed as Kenny King’s Mystery tag team partner for a 2019 tag wars tournament match in which he and King defeated the team of Colt Cabana and NWA National Heavyweight Champion Willie Mack advancing further in the tournament.

MVP appeared in WWE from 2006 to 2010 where he held the United States Championship two times and the Tag Team Championship on one occasion with Matt Hardy.

In 2011, MVP signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling and became the promotion’s inaugural IWGP Intercontinental Champion by defeating Toru Yano.  Following Wrestle Kingdom 7, MVP left the promotion and spent a year away from professional wrestling.

MVP also spent time in TNA Wrestling from 2014 to 2015 in which he and King founded the Beat Down Clan faction also consisting of Low Ki, Samoa Joe, Bobby Lashley and Hernandez.

He also has appeared on the independent scene from 2013 to the present, including Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion and a short run in Major League Wrestling.  

MVP’s last appearance on WWE television was during the RAW 25 special playing a game of poker with the APA, Heath Slater and Ted DiBiase.

MVP posted a picture on his Instagram Friday night and noted “The #BDC ride again!!!” implying that both he and King have reformed the Beat Down Clan faction.
