Former AWA and WWC Superstar Dick Steinborn passes away Saturday at age 86

Several media outlets, including Wrestling With Demons is reporting that former AWA and World Wrestling Council of Pierto Rico Supertar Dick Steinborn passed away on Saturday at age 86. 

Steinborn’s started his professional wrestling career in 1951, when he was just 17.  He retired in 1985, and became a fitness instructor and a gym owner. 

His father, Milo Steinborn was a carnival “strongman” before becoming a pro wrestler in 1922.

Steinborn won numerous titles throughout his career, including the AWA Tag Team Titles with Doug Gilbert. In the late 1970’s into the early 1980’s, he was a regular in WWC and became a big star after winning the Caribbean Title and the WWC Junior Title.

He also wrestled matches against Dory Funk, Jr., and wrestled in the late 1970s under a white mask as The White Knight.
