CM Punk

UFC on FOX has posted highlights from the CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall fight from last night in Cleveland at UFC 203 from the post-show that aired on Fox Sports 1.

FOX has also posted video of Punk during the post-fight press conference on Saturday night where the former WWE star gets emotional talking about his loss to Gall.

John Pollock of the Fight Network spoke with UFC President Dana White following UFC 203 and asked about Punk’s future in the promotion after a quick loss. White talked about giving Punk a shot, but didn’t seem high on Punk having his next fight again in the promotion.

“He probably shouldn’t have his next fight in the UFC. Just like I said with Brock, having your first fight in the UFC is tough. And you see tonight even if it’s against a guy who is 2-0. This is a tough place to learn.”

You can check out the comments from White below courtesy of the Fight Network.

  1. who feels sorry for Punk? not I cuz we all should have seen that ass whoopin coming i sure did when he chose to get in the UFC

  2. He pursued a goal. Punk was not going to lose last night. Not in the long run. He learned from his experience. He needs to get up, dust off his boots, and get back in the gym.

  3. He tried his best. No big deal. He’ll be back. I wish him luck. PS – I’d love to see him in wrestling again.

  4. yet this is the same guy bragging about how much money he will make from this fight over gall. punk is garbage. i’m glad he got destroyed by gall.

  5. can’t expect a guy with no grappling or fighting background to go to the ufc and not get an ass whoopin. i mean if punk got destroyed by a brown belt bjj guy thats new to pro mma, imagine what a guy like a nate diaz would have done to him.

  6. i don’t like the guy at all but i feel for him in that vid. he’ll come back from it, doubtless. may not become the star Brock did but then who would?
just a shame, i feel, because if he’d been that guy in the WWE instead of the mouthy ingrate he became, he could have been one of the all time phenoms.
