NEWS and NOTES

As we announced on Tuesday, Georgia Wrestling History is working on several spin-off programs of the weekly Peach State Pandemonium show, to begin airing in January. GWH is proud to announce that one of these will include a show hosted by Jimmy Rave. Rave’s program joins the previously announced weekly MMA show with Ric Gillespie from the Canvas Chronicle, as well as the wrestling-themed weekly broadcasts from Dan Masters Live. All spin-off programs will debut in January 2009. There are also more programs in the works.

PSP, hosted by myself and Les Thatcher, will return on November 26, and air each Wednesday through the December 17 broadcast. After a holiday break, PSP begins 2009 on January 7. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer will also continue to join us for previews of PPV events from World Wrestling Entertainment and Total Nonstop Action, the next one being WWE’s Survivor Series on November 23.

WWE’s RAW crew will be at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Ireland, tonight. The SmackDown/ECW crew will be at Hallenstadion in Zurich, Switzerland.

WWE results from Newcastle, England, on November 12: William Regal over Santino Marella to retain the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; with Mickie James as referee, Beth Phoenix over Candice Michelle to retain the WWE Women’s Title; Charlie Haas, as Hulk Hogan, over D-Lo Brown; Kofi Kingston & CM Punk over Cody Rhodes & Manu to retain the WWE World Tag Team Title; Kane over Snitsky; Shawn Michaels over JBL; and Rey Mysterio & Batista over Chris Jericho & Randy Orton.

WWE has announced the following events: January 4, in Bossier City, LA, at the CenturyTel Center; January 12, in St. Joseph, MO, at the St. Joseph Civic Arena; and January 17, in Troy, OH, at the Hobart Arena.

Another match has been added to the Survivor Series PPV, which will be broadcast live from the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA, on November 23, with Team Orton (Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes & William Regal) versus Team Batista (Batista, Matt Hardy, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk & R-Truth).

The final overall rating for the November 11 edition of ECW was 1.2.

The lineup for tonight’s iMPACT broadcast on Spike TV, from Total Nonstop Action, is as follows: Taylor Wilde & Roxxi Laveaux versus Rhaka Khan & Awesome Kong; Sheik Abdul Bashir defends the TNA X Division Title against Eric Young; Scott Steiner versus Rhino; Jay Lethal versus Sting; and A.J. Styles & Samoa Joe versus Beer Money.

Great Championship Wrestling will be at the Gr8 Sk8 Plex in Phenix City, AL, tonight. Advertised: J-Rod defends the GCW Heavyweight Title against Cru Jones; John Bogie & Kareem Abdul Jamar versus the Merchants of Death for the GCW Tag Team Title; and the Johnny Swinger Invitational. World Wrestling Alliance 4 results from Atlanta, GA, on November 12: Mike Black over Amy in an inter-gender match; Kaiden Knight over Kid Mafia; and Jake Diamond & Miguel Rivera over Ricky King & Bill the Butcher to retain the WWA4 Tag Team Title. It was reported that 20 were in attendance at the free weekly show.

November 11 results from the Dorough Field House on the campus of Oglethorpe University, with attendance estimated at 200-250, for an annual free show to pump up the student body for the upcoming basketball season: Frankie Valentine beat Yoko NoNo. Matt Black defeated Evan Turner. Mike Stratus & Jake Slater beat J.P. Magnum & Vordell Walker. J-Rod beat Elix Skipper. Dean Doyle & Coach Ponder & A.J. Steele beat Cru Jones & Micah Taylor & Kodiak. Dean Doyle is the Oglethorpe Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Affairs, who has wrestled as "The Professor" on indie shows in Middle and South Georgia.

The All Pro Wrestling Alliance will be at the National Guard Armory in Maryville, TN, on November 14. The Professional Girl Wrestling Association presents "A Banner Night" on November 15 at the SAW Arena in Millersville, TN, for a tribute show to women's wrestling legend Penny Banner. state license holder and am personally responsible for representing
PWU's interests to the state commissioner.
Due to James "The
Sandman" Fullington's long history of ignoring the PSAC's rules as
