Averno to Japan with Mistico
CMLL announced this week that Averno would be joining Mistico in Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “Wrestle Kingdom III” show in January. Also, Mistico revealed to Super Luchas Magazine that he would be teaming with Prince Devitt and Ryusuke Taguchi to face Averno, Jado, & Gedo in a huge Junior Heavyweight Trios Match!

Dos Caras Jr. Vacates Title
This week Dos Caras Jr. turned his CMLL World Heavyweight Championship belt into CMLL’s offices. It was believed that Caras would drop the belt on CMLL TV before he left for WWE, but now CMLL will hold a Tournament to name the new champion next year.

Mistico and Rey Bucanero Go At It Again
On Tuesday's Arena Coliseo show there wasn't anything to note other than the big Main Event. Mistico teamed with Mascara Dorada to face Rey Bucanero and Atlantis of the Los Guerreros. The story going into this was that it was actually Rey Bucanero's fault that Mistico got hurt a few months ago when Rey moved out of the way of a dive Mistico did. It resulted in a broken collarbone for Mistico. Well, not only did Mistico dive out onto Rey with the same Tope, but Rey moved out the way the same and Mistico nailed the floor the same. This time Mistico was fine and actually he and Dorada came back to win the last 2 falls of the match to win it. Mistico is insane. After the match Mistico challenge Bucanero to a Mask vs. Hair Match, but Rey said they should fight for one of their many titles. The title match is rumored to be taking place before the end of the year possibly on December 14th.

Olimpico Leaves CMLL
Olimpico has parted ways with CMLL this week. He will be the third member of Dos Caras Jr. & Dr. Wagner Jr.’s trios team for the main event of the PdM debut show in December. Olimpico is taking independent bookings immediately and even has expressed interest in appearing in the United States and Japan.

Hair vs. Hair Coming In December
December 2nd’s Arena Mexico show will be headlined by a Hair vs. Hair match pitting Loco Max against Mictlan. Loco Max is only 1-4 in Hair matches and this is his first since 2005. Mictlan is 0-3 in Mask matches (just recently losing his Mictlan mask to Dragon Rojo Jr.) and is 0-2 in Hair matches.

Satanico Named Arena Coliseo Head Trainer
CMLL announced this week that Satanico was taking over the Head Trainer duties at their Arena Coliseo Guadalajara Gym. Satanico is one of the best Lucha Libre trainers in Mexico and has trained many young up and comers like Volador Jr., Averno, Super Nova, Texano Jr., La Sombra, Ephesto, and many others.

Misterioso II Talks Titles
This week Misterioso II offered Valiente a rematch for his Occidental Light Heavyweight Championship anytime he wanted it, and then challenged Volaor Jr., La Sombra, & Sagrado to defend their Mexican National Trios Championships against he, Dragon Rojo Jr., & Vangelis.

Luchadore Spotlight of the Week:

Billy Boy (AAA)

This week’s Lucha spotlight is shone on the young up and coming Billy Boy of the AAA promotion. Billy Boy was trained by Gran Apache the original Skayde and then went on to marry Apache’s daughter Faby Apache. Billy Boy made his debut in 1997 as Fighterman. He then joined a group known as a the Spice Boys where they were a pop band rip off. The gimmick never really went anywhere. Then, he got his big break in AAA as a member of the Los Barrio Boys along with Alan (now Gato Eveready) and Decnnis. Los Barrio Boys were all three young, green high flyers but as a group they seasoned into great wrestlers and high flyers primarily due to their feuds with the Los Diabolicos (Angel Mortal, El Gallego, Marabunta, & Mr. Condor) as well as Gran Apache. Billy Boy started a huge rivalry with Gran Apache over the real life relationship between he and Apache’s daughter. Billy Boy eventually lost his wife and son to Apache in a huge match that banned him from being with her as Apache did not approve of Billy Boy. Eventually, Decnnis & Alan turned on Billy Boy because of him costing the Barrio Boys matches due to his depression over losing his family. Decnnis and Alan then joined forces with Gran Apache and continued to feud with Billy Boy. Eventually Billy Boy suffered a break down (kayfabe) and was committed to a mental institution. There Billy Boy plotted his revenge against his former friends and Gran Apache. He eventually returned under a mask calling himself Afa. Afa gained the respect of Apache and eventually Gran Apache felt that Afa would make a great husband for Faby Apache and a great father for their son Marvin. Afa then unmasked revealing that it was really him. Billy Boy and Faby then reunited while Gran Apache was more upset than ever. The Apache family (other than Faby) still refuse to accept Billy Boy as a part of the family and continues to feud with each other off and on.

Billy Boy has remained in the midcard for his tenure in AAA and seems to have a huge upside. Konnan has pledged to push Billy Boy more as he believes that he is a future star of the business. He is a big fan favorite and is a great mat wrestler combined with his great high flying ability. If AAA doesn’t pull the trigger on him soon then it isn’t a huge stretch to see Billy Boy jump ship to CMLL or even Perro Aguayo Jr.’s upstart promotion. He is definitely the future of Junior Heavyweights in Mexico.
