In a rather surprising move, Jeff Jarrett defeated Raven to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion at a Border City Wrestling event on Thursday night in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Jarrett defeated Raven with the help from America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm), turning the tag team heel.

TNAwrestling.com heavily promoted the title change along with a fancy press release and a photo from the event showing Jarrett displaying the NWA World Title high with both Chris Harris and James Storm at his side. To even futher solidify the title change, it was stated that "NWA Championship Committee member Larry Zbyszko was in contact with the promoters of the show, and Zbyszko has informed TNAwrestling.com the title change is indeed official."

The article also includes quotes from Jeff Jarrett, Chris Harris and James Storm. It notes that "Raven left the arena immediately following the bout and refused to comment on the situation." The match between Raven and Jarrett was billed as the first ever NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match in Windsor in 47 years. TNA had 5 cameras at the event to film the title change and are expected to post the footage online very soon. This event also included other TNA talent such as Bobby Roode, Abyss, Petey Williams, Jerry Lynn, Eric Young, Johnny Devine, A-1, Rhino, Chris Sabin and Christopher Daniels. This title change comes only two weeks before TNA debuts on Spike TV, which is the same move the company made before they debuted on Fox Sports Net with Jarrett as the champion in June of 2004.
