NJPW Strips Brock Lesnar of the IWGP Championship; full details inside
On Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:38 AM EST New Japan Pro Wrestling has stripped Brock Lesnar of the IWGP championship. Lesnar was supposed to go to Japan to defend the belt this weekend, but Lesnar informed them he could not make it due to visa issues. NJPW will hold a tournament to crown a new champion this Monday.
While only a rumor at this point, there is speculation that Lesnar was supposed to drop the title to Hiroshi Tanahashi this weekend, making the timing of his visa issues very strange.
