MCW TRIBUTE TO THE LEGENDS - SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH
Hall of Famer TITO SANTANA comes to Maryland Championship Wrestling
Tito Santana wrestled in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and the American Wrestling Association (AWA), among other federations, but is mostly known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment. On October 22, 1979, he captured the Tag Team Championship with Ivan Putski. On February 11, 1984, he defeated the Magnificent Don Muraco for the Intercontinental Championship. Maryland wrestling fans remember his victory, July 1985, over Greg Valentine in a steel cage match at the Baltimore Arena to capture his 2nd Intercontinental Championship.
More gold came Tito's way as he, with Rick Martel, won the WWE World Tag Team Championship, defeating The Hart Foundation in October 1987.
Santana & Muraco would cross paths again, as Santana defeated Muraco in August 1993 to win the ECW Heavyweight Championship. Santana would make an appearance in WCW, on Monday Nitro, defeating Jeff Jarrett in January 2000.
The now-Middle School Spanish Teacher was inducted in the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2004.

Former NWA World Tag Team Champion & former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES, will return to Maryland Championship Wrestling to take part in TRIBUTE TO THE LEGENDS on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the MCW Arena in Dundalk, MD. Stay tuned for announcements on the legends appearing and matches taking place at this event. AJ Styles looks to gain his first win in MCW, after losing a "match of the year" candidate to his now co-holder/partner, NWA World Tag Team Champion "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Styles' opponent for Sept. 10th will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

ADAM FLASH (champion) vs. JULIO DINERO
Flash said that this will be the only rematch he gives Dinero. Julio needs to make the most of this match. Will Flash have his army of thugs with him like he did at Fort Meade??
MCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
SCOTT FOWLER & JASON STATIC (champions) vs. GENESIS & BRUISER
As a result of his two victories at Fort Meade, Bruiser and Genesis will get a tag team title match against the team of Static & Fowler.
MCW RAGE TV CHAMPIONSHIP
JOSH DANIELS (champion) vs. DANNY JAXX
The new Rage TV Champion, JOSH DANIELS, was finally able to capture MCW gold at RED, WHITE, BLACK, & BRUISED. However, controversy arose as it was determined that Daniels had scored the pinfall one second ahead of DANNY JAXX, who had his opponent pinned and believe that he was the champion. Commissioner Tara has signed this one-on-one title match for Sept. 10th.

Stryker is undefeated in 2006 as reigning Jr. champion and although the tests continue to get stiffer, the all-business Stryker seems to always get the job done. This time he defends against one of the most prolific athletes in the Cleveland area, a man whos traveled the world over in Josh Prohibition. Its been several months since Josh has been in a CAPW ring and thered be no better way to return than to end Strykers dominant winning streak.
Nigel McGuiness vs. Johnny Gargano
Garganos stock was raised big time when he defeated Alex Shelley at August Onslaught. Now the big-name tests keep on coming, as Gargano finds himself across the ring from ROH Pure Champion Nigel McGuiness. Nigel brings an exciting hybrid of British and American style wrestling rarely seen in the area. Will it prove too much for the studious prodigy Gargano to overcome?
