Maryland Championship Wrestling sent this in:

MCW HOLIDAY HOMECOMING
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 28TH
MICHAEL'S EIGHTH AVENUE - GLEN BURNIE, MD
www.marylandwrestling.com

For many years, Maryland Championship Wrestling called Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD, home. That facility was to MCW what The Omni or The Greensboro Colisuem was to NWA/WCW, The Sportatorium was to WCCW, The Impact Zone is to TNA, the New Alhambra was to ECW, and what Madison Square Garden is to WWE. It's MCW's wrestling holy ground. Many superstars appeared at MCW events in that building, including the late Eddie Guerrero, Joey Mercury, Mickie James, Orlando Jordan, Danny Doring, Sherri Martel, Ricky Morton, Shane Douglas, Ricky Steamboat, Bobby Eaton, Buff Bagwell, Matt Striker, The Headbangers, the late Michael Lockwood (Crash Holly), among others.

Matches and events, that were held at that building, were closely followed by wrestling fans, other wrestlers, and other wrestling organizations across the country. Michael's holds a special place in the hearts of many of the pro wrestlers that appeared there. Following Ring of Honor's event in 2004, it was believed that the building would no longer see professional wrestling events presented there.

Wrestling fans, the hiatus is over! In less than two weeks, Thursday night, December 28th, MCW returns home, to Michael's Eighth Avenue, for MCW Holiday Homecoming. Tickets are available now on www.ticketmonster.com.

NWA Upstate Update 12/14/06 : A Million Dollar Opportunity, Royalty Returns, and the Year in Review (Part 1)

Million Dollar Man Camp

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase will be conducting a camp Saturday, February 10th at the Minett Hall at the Dome Arena in Henrietta, New York before NWA Upstate: February Fallout. The camp will last 3 to 4 hours and spots are limited so please contact Hellcat (hellcat@nwaupny.com) for details. For those who do not know how valuable of an experience the camp is that NWA Upstate is offering with him, here's an overview of what the "Million Dollar Man" brings to the table.

Ted DiBiase has been involved in the world of professional wrestling his entire life. His stepfather, wrestler "Iron Mike" DiBiase, began the tradition and had a strong influence on him as a child. After Ted's junior year in college at West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, he stepped into the squared circle to follow in his father's footsteps.

While wrestling in Mid-South Wrestling the WWE(WWF at the time) took notice of him and had an idea for a new character and developed Ted into the "Million Dollar Man" and he was surrounded by money, limousines and life in the fast lane. Through hard work and much determination he quickly rose to the top of his profession where he has remained for the past twenty years.

Ted's career as a wrestler has taken him all over the world; all over Europe, Japan, India, Canada, and all of the fifty states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Ted has held many wrestling titles over his expansive career not withstanding, "The World Championship Title." He has wrestled alone, as part of a tag team, and in recent years as the role of manager.

You may also have heard him at times behind the camera as he often commentated and did color commentating for World Championship Wrestling. And most recently working behind the scenes as a road agent for the WWE.

Ted knows exactly what the WWE is looking for specifically and will help you hone those skills to make it to the next level.

Contact hellcat@nwaupny.com for details.

Steve Corino is coming....

On February 10th, 2007at NWA Upstate's February Fallout 07' at the Minett Hall in Henrietta, New York, the self proclaimed God of Professional Wrestling and King of Old School, Steve Corino will be returning to NWA Upstate. The former NWA, ECW, and AWA World Champion wrestled Brodie Lee in a hard-fought, physical battle that saw Lee get the victory at this year's February Fallout. Always outspoken and controversial, one has to wonder what The King of Old School has planned for his return to Upstate. One thing is for sure; no Upstate wrestler OR fan will be safe.
