PWInsider is reporting that with tonight's Smackdown taping in Laredo, TX set to see Edge forfeit the World Heavyweight Title due to a pectoral injury, the plan as of right now is to have The Great Khali win the World Title tonight in the scheduled Battle Royal main event to determine a new champion.

Khali vs. Batista is now slated as the new World Title Match for The Great American Bash PPV this Sunday in San Jose, CA. Again, plans are always subject to change, but this was the plan as of this evening heading into the tapings.

Update: WWE.com has a photo up confirming that The Great Khali won tonight's Battle Royal to become the NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion. We will have full taping results up later tonight.
