Introduction

Welcome to the latest edition of “Predictions from the Faculty”. This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming No Surrender PPV.

The card features eight matches. Since the card was announced, I don’t see why we have to edit anything unless some strange twist happens on the card.

As for the columnists, David Stephens and Josh Boutwell continue to be in a deadlocked tie as we approach the half-way point. All Both co-Deans posted a 3-2 prediction record in the last PPV we predicted, which was WWE’s SummerSlam. This will also be our first TNA Prediction piece since July. Most of you may remember that we did not do picks for Hardcore Justice.

In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists on WrestleView provide predictions on who they thing will win the matches. We accumulate throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case it will be Royal Rumble 2011).

What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. All the readers have to do is either leave me a message on Facebook or e-mail at mistervwv@hotmail.com. The winner among the “WrestleView Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks under the “Student of the Week” tab in the predictions standings. We all thank you for your participation.

Before I show the class our selections, here are the rankings as of WWE’s SummerSlam.

Current Standings (as of WWE’s SummerSlam)

1) David Stephens (That’s a Wrap and RAW Recapper)………….60-34 (3-2)
2) Josh Boutwell (Viva La Raza and TNA Recapper)……………….60-34 (3-2)
3) Jose Marrero (Wrestling Rumblings)……………………………………58-36 (1-4)
4) Students of the Week (The Best from Prev. PPV)………………58-36 (4-1)*
5) Matt O’Brien (Notes From The Nosebleeds)…………………………55-39 (2-3)
6) Anthony Valvo (From the Desk of Mr. V/ROH Recaps)……….55-39 (3-2)
7) Daniel Browne (For Queen and Country)……………………………..54-40 (1-4)
8) WrestleView Students (The Loyal Readers)………………………..54-40 (3-2)
9) Doug Lackey (Reality From Ringside)…………………………………..52-42 (1-4)

12) Sean Hurley (The Sharpshooter)………………………………………..28-32 (NR)
13) Joe Baiamonte (Baiamonte’s Casa/2009 WV Champ)………24-20 (NR)

* Michael Phillips is the Student of the Week. He posted a 5-0 mark for WWE’s SummerSlam.

Predictions for No Surrender

**Non-Title**

Knockouts Match
Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne

David S. – MADISON RAYNE.

Josh B. – RAYNE.

Jose M. – MADISON RAYNE because the feud will continue.

Michael P. – MADISON RAYNE.

Matt O. – RAYNE.

Anthony V. – In order for this feud to continue somewhat fresh, I think MADISON RAYNE needs this more than Sky. The real winner is “The 2nd Rope”. I expect Love and Tara to run-in, but Rayne wins this round.

Jeff S. – SKY.

Consensus: MADISON RAYNE 6; Velvet Sky 1.

Falls Count Anywhere Match
Abyss vs. Rhino

David S. – ABYSS.

Josh B. – ABYSS.

Jose M. – ABYSS because I can’t remember the last time Rhino ever won a TNA PPV match.

Michael P. – ABYSS via “them” showing.

Matt O. – ABYSS.

Anthony V. – ABYSS by default! Rhino will get his shots, but Abyss will win this hands-down.

Jeff S. – ABYSS.

Consensus: ABYSS 7; Rhino 0.

Tag Team Match
Kevin Nash and Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe

David S. – STING AND KEVIN NASH.

Josh B. – STINGER AND NASH.

Jose M. – I am going with KEVIN NASH AND STING.

Michael P. – JOE AND JEFF JARRETT.

Matt O. – NASH AND STING.

Anthony V. – Usually there is a swerve every PPV. Man, is Joe a sinking stock right now. I think the swerve happens here. Joe turns on Jarrett and joins the team of KEVIN NASH AND STING.

Jeff S. – JOE AND JARRETT.

Consensus: STING AND NASH 5; Jarrett and Joe 2.

I Quit Match
AJ Styles vs. Tommy Dreamer

David S. – AJ STYLES.

Josh B. – STYLES.

Jose M. – I really hate this match. Dreamer can’t quit and AJ as the TV champion shouldn’t be doing non title jobs on PPV to someone who is half the talent he is but I am going with TOMMY DREAMER.

Michael P. – DREAMER.

Matt O. – STYLES.

Anthony V. – This stipulation makes me believe that Fortune and EV 2.0 will flex their muscle in this contest. I think in the end AJ STYLES knocks out Dreamer to finish off this match. It could be a case in which Dreamer does not technically say “I Quit”, but he won’t be moving.

Jeff S. – DREAMER.

Consensus: AJ STYLES 4; Tommy Dreamer 3.

TNA World Championship Tournament (Semi-Final)
Mr. Anderson vs. D’Angelo Dinero

David S. – MR. ANDERSON.

Josh B. – ANDERSON.

Jose M. – I don’t see the plans changing for Bound for Glory and the Pope has already had a shot at Kurt Angle so I am going with MR. ANDERSON.

Michael P. – MR. ANDERSON.

Matt O. – ANDERSON.

Anthony V. – I am a huge fan of Dinero. If I was booking this, he would win. Sadly, someone else does the books in TNA and I will go with the obvious pick and say MR. ANDERSON. I hope I am wrong.

Jeff S. – ANDERSON.

Consensus: MR. ANDERSON 7; D’Angelo Dinero 0.

TNA World Championship Tournament (Semi-Final)
Per Stipulation, if Angle loses he will retire (Thanks, Jose)
Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy

David S. – KURT ANGLE.

Josh B. – ANGLE.

Jose M. – I believe the stip is if Angle loses he WILL retire but I am going with KURT ANGLE winning and main eventing Bound for Glory.

Michael P. – ANGLE….duh!

Matt O. – ANGLE.

Anthony V. – As always, I never go against a Pittsburgh wrestler. That plus Jeff’s pending trail (been saying this for months), ANGLE goes over easily.

Jeff S. – ANGLE.

Consensus: KURT ANGLE 7; Jeff Hardy 0.

**Championship Matches**

For the TNA World Tag Team Championships
Motor City Machineguns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) (c’s) vs. London Brawling (Desmond Wolfe and Magnus)

David S. – THE MOTOR CITY MACHINEGUNS.

Josh B. – MACHINE GUNS.

Jose M. – MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS who seem to have the rocket strapped to them.

Michael P. – MCMG if they lose now… might as well just split the tag team.

Matt O. – LONDON BRAWLING.

Anthony V. – Well, at least Wolfe is getting a title shot. I like this team of London Brawling, but Chelsea will do something that will cost them the match. I am going with THE GUNS, but it should be a good one.

Jeff S. – MCMG.

Consensus: MOTOR CITY MACHINEGUNS 6; London Brawling 1.

For the TNA X Division Championship
Douglas Williams (c) vs. Sabu

David S. – DOUGLAS WILLIAMS.

Josh B. – WILLIAMS.

Jose M. – It will be a interesting match but I am not in favor of putting any titles on the EV2.0 guys so I am going with DOUGLAS WILLIAMS.

Michael P. – Sabu for just being Sabu….

Matt O. – WILLIAMS.

Anthony V. – I am going SABU by either DQ or Count out. I think the moment Sabu gets offense in, Williams will be booked to do some kind of cheating tactic. Even if Williams wins, it won’t be clean.

Jeff S. – WILLIAMS.

Consensus: DOUGLAS WILLIAMS 5; Sabu 2.
