Introduction

Welcome to the Season Premiere edition of “Predictions from the Faculty” (Season #3). This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming TNA Pay-Per-View. This weekend we will provide our selections for TNA’s Against All Odds 2011. The show will be held in Orlando, FL.

The card currently will have eight matches. More than likely, those are the only matches we will predict.

In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists on Wrestleview provide predictions on who they think will win the matches. We accumulate throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case, the 2012 Royal Rumble).

What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. All the readers have to do is either leave me a message on Facebook or e-mail at mistervwv@hotmail.com. The winner among the “Wrestleview Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks under the “Student of the Week” tab in the predictions standings (if they outright defeat the Students of the Week). We all thank you for your participation.

But wait class, this year there are some “twists” to the game.

I have decided to prevent some tiebreakers, I will issue points to Title Matches that are predicted correctly. There are two championship matches on the card, so the maximum amount of points to go along with the win/loss standing will be two points.

But what, to the Wrestleview “students”, there is more!

I got approval for this decision, and for the FIRST time in our three seasons the students will compete for PRIZES!!! That is right, we felt that your loyalty to the article shall be rewarded. However, the prizes will not be handed out until the FINAL PPV Prediction of the season (which will be WWE’s Royal Rumble 2012). So not only will one get a chance to earn a Gold Star and be a part of this game, but it will be for a competition.

The Prizes will vary, but here is what the winners will receive.

The first place Student will receive a DVD. Don’t know what the DVD will be, but it will either be a WWE, TNA, or ROH DVD.

The second place Student will receive a T-Shirt. Again, don’t know what the shirt will look like but I am sure it is something one will cherish for being a runner-up in predicting wrestling matches.

The third place Student will win a coffee mug. As one knows, coffee keeps many teachers alert and awake. Consider this prize one step closer into feeling like a “teacher” (but if you are a teacher, then add this prize to your collection of coffee mugs and/or thermos).

Also, the will be a prize for the Student that finishes in Dead Last (aka the most losses throughout the year). For your luck, the “winner” will receive a Used Copy of the 2009 TNA Victory Road DVD. When used, it was only in a DVD player once, as it was declared “The Worst PPV of 2009”. And who could argue with such a great contest as Jenna Morasca vs. Sharmell?

The Wrestleview Staff Possible Roster

As you know, some have left, some have decided to not participate, and some have been added. It is time for a whole new season and as always the competition will be grand. The Wrestleview Students will be hungry as well, as for the first time we will present prizes for the Top 3 Students and Worst Student. See above for the prizes, as they won’t be official until later on in the season. Remember, in order for a “Wrestleview Student” to win a prize they MUST BE in the top three or worst after the 2012 Royal Rumble. So class, make sure you do not skip sessions often. The top three students will be posted in a different standing.

Wrestleview Staff Roster

Dave Stephens (Raw Recaps/That’s a Wrap/Teacher’s Lounge/2010 “Dean”)
Josh Boutwell (TNA Impact Recaps/Viva La Raza)
Anthony Valvo (From the Desk of Mr. V/Teacher’s Lounge)
Jose Marrero (Wrestling Rumblings)
Matt O’Brien (Notes from the Nosebleeds)
Mike Tedesco (Smackdown Recaps)
Ryan Rivera (ROH on HDNet Recaps)
Clinton Bowman (The Velvet Room)
Nicholas Gray (The Velvet Room)
Greg McNeish (The Velvet Room)
Evan O’Brien (Wrestleview International Desk)
Darragh O’Connor (Wrestleview International Desk)

Joe Baiamonte has teased of a return. He was the 2009 Wrestleview “Dean” and rumored to return. I will be looking out for him later on this weekend. Any other member of the Wrestleview Staff is always welcome to participate.

And of course, the WV Students average will be part of the standings. I have taken out the “Students of the Week” for this season. However, do not worry. Those that scored the highest will still be welcomed to participate in an upcoming article.

This week there are four students of the week. They are Ken Konarzewski, Gregory “Grash” Walek, Nick Latham, and Randy McWilliams. To add the Students of the Week the world is represented in these predictions. We have representatives from the United States (10 States), Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Any names not included in the predictions did not send predictions.

And now, let’s go on with the end of the season predictions!

Predictions for TNA’s Against All Odds 2011

*** NON-TITLE MATCHES ***

6-Man Tag Team Match
Beer Money (Storm and Roode) and Scott Steiner vs. Gunner, Murphy, and Rob Terry

Dave S. – N/A (will provide pick later.)

Josh B. – STEINER & BEER MONEY.

Anthony V. – Keep an eye on Gunner. I watched a couple of his matches before he is in this security role and he is pretty good. However I will go with BEER MONEY and STEINER and it is not close.

Jose M. – Have you ever seen Gunner and Murphy win anything? I don’t expect it here either as BEER MONEY and STEINER go over in this one.

Matt O. – BEERY MONEY AND GUY FEIRI (STEINER).

Mike T. – BEER MONEY AND SCOTT STEINER.

Ryan R. – BEER MONEY AND SCOTT STEINER.

Clinton B. – BEER MONEY AND STEINER.

Nicholas G. – TEAM STEINER.

Greg M. – STEINER’S FORTUNE. The babyfaces simply outclass the heels. Besides, you can’t job out Steiner in his first match back.

Evan O. – BEER MONEY AND SCOTT STEINER.

Darragh O. – BEER MONEY AND STEINER.

Gregory W. – GUNNER, MURPHY, AND ROB TERRY.

Ken K. – BEER MONEY/STEINER.

Randy M. – BEER MONEY AND SCOTT STEINER.

Nick L. – BEER MONEY AND SCOTT STEINER. (If Immortal wins, I riot!)

CONSENSUS: BEER MONEY/STEINER 14-1. In the first of many mini-battles between Fortune and Immortal, the staff easily chose Fortune (and Steiner) to pick up the win over the 2nd rate Immortal talents.

Street Fight
Bully Ray vs. Brother Devon

Dave S. – BULLY RAY.

Josh B. – BULLY RAY.

Anthony V. – For once, I am not feeling “bully” about this match. Seems like Ray has gotten away too easy and payback is coming! I am going to say this weekend BROTHER DEVON will get the win.

Jose M. – I am going to say BROTHER DEVON but in the end I really don’t care.

Matt O. – DEVON.

Mike T. – BROTHER DEVON.

Ryan R. – DEVON.

Clinton B. – REVEREND D-VON (w/ Batista).

Nicholas G. – DEVON.

Greg M. – BULLY~! The real question is whether Devon will channel Tommy Dreamer, and bleed all over his kids.

Evan O. – BROTHER DEVON.

Darragh O. – BROTHER DEVON.

Gregory W. – BULLY RAY.

Ken K. – BULLY!

Randy M. – BROTHER DEVON.

Nick L. – DEVON.

CONSENSUS: BROTHER DEVON 11-5. Though Ray is going to be in a “bully” mood, the staff chose Devon because it will be only a matter of time before Devon gets his arm raised in this feud.

Singles Match
Samoa Joe vs. D’Angelo Dinero

Dave S. – SAMOA JOE.

Josh B. – SAMOA JOE.

Anthony V. – I may be going outside the box with this match, but I am going to predict DINERO to go over and it will not be a clean win. They don’t know where to put Joe yet, but this is one of those feuds that will go on past one PPV.

Jose M. – D’ANGELO DINERO just because he needs this kind of a win.

Matt O. – SAMOA JOE.

Mike T. – THE POPE.

Ryan R. – Joe’s gonna kill you! SAMOA JOE is your winner!

Clinton B. – YOUR BLACK POPE.

Nicholas G. – JOE.

Greg M. – SAMOA JOE. This is a complete toss up.

Evan O. – SAMOA JOE.

Darragh O. – D’ANGELO DINERO.

Gregory W. – D’ANGELO DINERO.

Ken K. – JOE.

Randy M. – SAMOA JOE.

Nick L. – THE POPE.

CONSENSUS: SAMOA JOE 9-7. In this words of Professor McNeish, this is a total toss up. This did not have a wide margin and both appear to be in a funk and a win for both would boost their “push” in TNA. The staff chose Joe, but it should be a close contest.

Singles Match

Stipulation: If Jarrett wins, Angle gives Karen away to Jarrett. If Angle wins, he wins custody of his two children.)

Jeff Jarrett vs. Kurt Angle

Dave S. – KURT ANGLE.

Josh B. – KURT ANGLE.

Anthony V. – I think Jarrett is going to win, however since KURT ANGLE is from Pittsburgh I will continue to support any Steel City wrestler.

Jose M. – JEFF JARRETT because Kurt winning is just no fun.

Matt O. – JEFF JARRETT.

Mike T. – JEFF JARRETT.

Ryan R. – Unfortunately, I see JARRETT coming out in this one as the winner! I really dislike this feud! The fan side of me says Angle, but I choose Jarrett in reality.

Clinton B. – JUFF JURRETT.

Nicholas G. – JARRETT.

Greg M. – Does anyone really win this…? Oh whatever, I’ll say JEFF JARRETT, for the sake of Angle’s kids.

Evan O. – JEFF JARRETT.

Darragh O. – JEFF JARRETT.

Gregory W. – JEFF JARRETT.

Ken K. – JARRETT.

Randy M. – JEFF JARRETT.

Nick L. – Due to the stupid stipulation, I’m going with JARRETT.

CONSENSUS: JEFF JARRETT 13-3. Though last year’s top professors chose Angle to win his kids back, it is more than likely that TNA will give Jarrett the victory (and Angle give Karen away to the guy that brought him to TNA). What we can expect is shenanigans at the wedding that will happen after this PPV. It will be heavenly.

Singles Match
Rob Van Dam vs. Matt Hardy

Dave S. – ROB VAN DAM.

Josh B. – ROB VAN DAM.

Anthony V. – I wonder if Hardy will take credit if the buyrates go up by 1 buy. Seriously, I am picking ROB VAN DAM as he is chasing Jeff. I think the hurdle will be cleared tonight.

Jose M. – RVD because he already lost once to Matt Hardy.

Matt O. – RVD.

Mike T. – If Rob Van Dam loses to Tyler Reks Jr. I’ll be pissed. RVD!

Ryan R. – RVD.

Clinton B. – FATT HARDY.

Nicholas G. – FATTHEW HARDY.

Greg M. – RVD. Is this even a real feud? Have they devoted ANY television time to it?

Evan O. – ROB VAN DAM.

Darragh O. – ROB VAN DAM.

Gregory W. – MATT HARDY.

Ken K. – RVD.

Randy M. – MATT HARDY.

Nick L. – RVD (Hardy won last time).

CONSENSUS: ROB VAN DAM 12-4. Matt Hardy won the last contest, so most of the faculty predicts that this time around Matt will just be another hurdle for RVD to jump in order to get his hands on Jeff Hardy.

Triple Threat to determine the #1 Contender for the TNA X Division Championship
Max Buck vs. Jeremy Buck vs. Robbie E

Dave S. – JEREMY BUCK.

Josh B. – JEREMY BUCK.

Anthony V. – Again, it probably is a wasted pick, but ROBBIE E wins because he is a part of the “Teaching Fraternity”. Honestly though, I see the GenMe team costing each other the #1 Contender spot.

Jose M. – ROBBIE E…just because I like Cookie.

Matt O. – MAX BUCK.

Mike T. – ROBBIE E.

Ryan R. – ROBBIE E.

Clinton B. – ROBBIE E.

Nicholas G. – ROBBIE E.

Greg M. – An all-heel match-up, eh? Uh… Let’s go with a Buck… Um… MAX.

Evan O. – ROBBIE E.

Darragh O. – ROBBIE E.

Gregory W. – ROBBIE E.

Ken K. – ROBBIE E.

Randy M. – ROBBIE E.

Nick L. – Tag teams usually don’t win when in matches like this so ROBBIE E.

CONSENSUS: ROBBIE E. earns most with 12 (Max and Jeremy each got 2). Usually, tag teams are projected the winners because they have the better chances. But the staff almost agree that GenMe will think too much of themselves and cost each other the match. Robbie E. shall fistbump himself back into the title picture.

*** CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES ***

Last Standing Knockout Match for the TNA Knockout’s Championship
Madison Rayne (c) vs. Mickie James

Dave S. – MICKIE JAMES.

Josh B. – MICKIE JAMES.

Anthony V. – I am a HUGE fan of Rayne holding that title and it is great that the Knockouts Division really revolves around her. However, I think Rayne needs to chase for a bit. Therefore, I feel that MICKIE JAMES will overcome the loaded glove and Tara’s loaded elbow pad and win the title.

Jose M. – MICKIE JAMES…how many times can she lose a title shot before she finally wins?

Matt O. – JAMES.

Mike T. – MADISON RAYNE.

Ryan R. – MICKIE JAMES.

Clinton B. – Honestly…I really don’t care…but I say HURDKURE KUNTRY~ MICKIE JAMES.

Nicholas G. – RAYNE.

Greg M. – MADISON RAYNE. Madison’s the shining light of the Knockouts.

Evan O. – MICKIE JAMES.

Darragh O. – MICKIE JAMES.

Gregory W. – MICKIE JAMES.

Ken K. – MICKIE.

Randy M. – MADISON RAYNE.

Nick L. – MICKIE JAMES.

CONSENSUS: MICKIE JAMES 12-4. Madison Rayne has represented the Knockouts Division well since she took back her title after Bound for Glory. However, the staff thinks that Mickie James is hungrier than ever to win that championship. James has been on a roll lately and the staff almost agrees that James will be the NEW Knockout’s Champion.

Ladder Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Mr. Anderson (c) vs. Jeff Hardy

Dave S. – MR. ANDERSON.

Josh B. – MR. ANDERSON.

Anthony V. – This match will have a lot of twists. I see Fortune and Immortal playing a factor in the main event, but in the end MR. ANDERSON retains the title because of Jeff’s legal limbo.

Jose M. – MR ANDERSON because you still don’t know if Hardy is going to beat jail time.

Matt O. – ANDERSON.

Mike T. – JEFF HARDY.

Ryan R. – ANDERSON! ANDERSON!

Clinton B. – MISSSSTERRRRRRRRRR…….ANDER…..wait…I can’t say that can I? Uhh…MR. ANDERSON…

Nicholas G. – MR. ANDERSON.

Greg M. – ANDERSON. He’s still fresh as champ, so no need to move the belt.

Evan O. – KEN ANDERSON.

Darragh O. – MR. ANDERSON.

Gregory W. – MR. ANDERSON.

Ken K. – From Milwaukee, MR. ANDERSON.

Randy M. – MR. ANDERSON.

Nick L. – MR ANDERSON……..Anderson (via interference by AJ).

CONSENSUS: MR. ANDERSON 15-1. Jeff Hardy’s legal issues are still a factor in most of the staff members eyes, and it appears that based on this as well as Anderson’s new allies equal out a successful title defense for Anderson.
