Billy Corgan on Bound For Glory PPV: “The issue is the same, who’s going to pay for this and what do I get?”

TNA President Billy Corgan made an appearance on the “Busted Open” show on SiriusXM satellite radio on Wednesday afternoon discussing the upcoming Bound For Glory PPV this Sunday and reports about the future of TNA heading into the show.

Reports by both and The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online stated this week that the future of the company was very much in question with the possibility of a sale or new investors coming into play before the live Bound For Glory PPV on Sunday.

This comes two weeks after Corgan took part in an interview with the New York Post stating he had intentions to become the majority owner of TNA. Corgan, Dixie Carter, Aroluxe Marketing and Canada’s Fight Network hold equity stakes according to that article.

During his interview with “Busted Open”, Corgan stated that TNA has had a “for sale sign on it for a long time” and that you could argue it has been open to a sale for its entire existence. He described the current situation with TNA as “a lot of people” being at the table.

“Whatever is gonna happen this week or this weekend is for sure – and this is not a wrestling angle – it is definitely going to change the direction of the company forever. Does that mean the company ends? Does that mean the company begins a new era? That is something I still cannot see.”

Corgan also revealed a recent meeting he had with Pop TV executives in Los Angeles when answering a question about the possibility of new owners taking over. He noted he got a very firm and complimentary vote of support if it goes the way he wants it to go.

When asked about the status of the Bound For Glory PPV this Sunday with reports stating that financially it may not be possible given the current situation, Corgan noted he’s stepped in three times during recent tapings to make sure things operated smoothly.

“It is not at the end of the day up to me. I am the financier. I have no investors. This is completely out of my own pile. I’m committed. I’m charging forward on my own initiative. I still remain very optimistic that come Sunday I will be standing there in the ring putting over what is about to happen. I will be in Orlando come rain or shine. Everyone’s booked, everything is good. The issue is the same, who’s going to pay for this and what do I get?”

“Busted Open” has posted an audio clip of the interview that you can listen to.
