Yet another week of empty arena wrestling opens up, from parts unknown, with a video package hyping up Cody Rhodes vs. Darby Allin tonight.

TNT Championship Tournament Semifinals
“American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (7-1) w/Brandi Rhodes vs. Darby Allin (5-2)

These two faced off way back at Fyter Fest last year in a time limit draw and Cody defeated Allin back on the New Year’s episode of Dynamite earlier this year. They’ve also teamed together several times. Cody and Allin run into each other with shoulder blocks to start the match. They lockup and Cody puts Allin in a side headlock. Allin shoves Cody into the ropes but Cody runs him over and gets a quick one-count.

Allin and Cody chain wrestle for several minutes. Allin catches Cody with a La Magistral Cradle and then the two exchange rollups. Cody bridges up out of a pin attempt but as he does Allin chop blocks his knee and goes to work on it. Allin drags Cody out onto the apron but Cody uses his other foot to kick Allin into the barricade.

Cody attempts a Back Suplex on the floor but Allin lands on his feet and charges at Cody. Cody moves out of the way and Allin sandwiches Brandi into the barricade. Allin checks on Brandi and eats a Mafia Kick from Cody. Billy Gunn helps Brandi to the back as Cody goes nuts on Allin.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Rhodes hits a Delayed Front Suplex on Allin and then rolls him up with a Jackknife Pin for a nearfall. Cody kneels on Allin’s back and then rolls back into a Bow and Arrow, but Allin manages to counter into a nearfall of his own by spinning around and splashing down onto Cody.

Cody hangs Allin up in the ropes and covers him for another nearfall. Cody puts Allin in a Half Crab but Allin quickly gets to the ropes to break the hold. Cody goes for a Suplex but Allin knees him in the head and then chop blocks him again. Allin hits a series of rapid strikes followed by a Code Red for a nearfall.

Allin puts Cody in a Kneelock but Cody manages to craw his way to the ropes to break the hold. Allin crotches Cody on the top rope and then hangs him up in the Tree of Woe before hitting a Flying Hip Attack. Allin pulls Cody off the top and locks him in a modified Indian Death Lock.

Allin slams Cody’s knee down onto the mat and Cody rolls to the floor to get away from the onslaught. Britt Baker hits Cody with her shoe as the referee was checking on Allin. Back in the ring, Allin goes to work on the knee again with headbutts.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Cody levels Allin with a Running Clothesline as we come back from the break. Cody hits an uppercut and then a Release Vertical Suplex. Cody hits the Disaster Kick but grabs his leg as he hits the mat. Cody teases whipping Allin with his weight belt but relents before his knee buckles after leapfrogging Allin. Cody still catches Allin with a quick rollup for a nearfall. Allin gets to his feet and hits Cody with his own Crossrhodes! 1…2…NO Cody kicks out!

Darby puts Cody in the Figure Four as Brandi limps back out to the ring. Cody rolls over and grabs the ropes to break the hold. Brandi hands Cody a bottle of water but Allin snatches it away and hits Cody with it. Darby goes for a Springboard Coffin Drop, but Cody catches him and then hits a Ripcord Lariat.

Cody goes for another Ripcord Lariat but Allin counters into a Flipping Stunner. Allin then attempts an Asai Moonsault but Cody catches him in midair and hits a big Crossrhodes for a nearfall. Cody goes to the top as my Dish goes out (bad weather). When it comes back on the finish to the match is replayed. Allin went for the Coffin Drop but Cody caught him and rolled him up for the pin.

Winner: Cody via pinfall (rollup)

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Another Scorpio Sky vignette airs with him talking about SCU coming together. He says he didn’t just want to be the “third guy” in Kaz and Daniels’ team but he says they have become a huge part of his career. Sky says that he sees a lot of guys in the locker room just happy to be there but he’s not satisfied until he’s a freaking legend.

MJF cuts a promo from his home about his “horrible” injury. He says after seeing his nail doctor his doctor said he had never seen such a miraculous turnaround from such an injury. He claims to have “over healed” his injury. MJF says he was getting ready to come to Dynamite but while he was shaving the unthinkable happened. He pulls off his scar revealing a neck and says that he nicked his neck. He says that a normal man would have bled out and died but he is a warrior. MJF says he will make it back and will overcome another gruesome injury because he is the last hope AEW has.

Musa (0-1) vs. “Mr. Mayhem” Wardlow (2-1)

Wardlow catches a charging Musa and Chokeslams him. Wardlow crushes Musa in the corner with a series of shoulder blocks followed by an attempt at a Running Powerslam. Musa blocks it and slaps Wardlow only to get knocked down. Musa bounces off the ropes with a Springboard Kapo Kick.

Wardlow gets pissed and slams Musa into the ropes before pulling Musa up to the top rope and then pulling him down into a disgusting Knee Strike. Wardlow follows up with the F10 for the pin.

Winner: Wardlow via pinfall (F10)

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Another episode of the “Bubbly Bunch” airs. They talk about their “Flim Flam” dance off last week and argue over who really won. Jericho challenges all the members to a “Manitoba Mele” and it’s that TikTok video going around social media where everyone punches at the camera and the next person reacts to it. A bunch of AEW wrestlers get involved in this one along with a bunch of celebrities like Jay and Silent Bob, Lou Ferrigno and even older wrestling stars like Vickie Guerrero and Virgil.

No DQ, No Countout Match
Jimmy Havoc (4-2) & Kip Sabian (6-6) w/Penelope Ford vs. The Best Friends (5-3) w/Orange Cassidy

Sabian and Havoc attack Best Friends as they make their entrance. Best Friends toss the heels to the outside and then Chucky holds them as Baretta dives over the top with a Somersault Plancha. Havoc grabs a chair and whacks Best Friends with it.

Havoc Suplexes Taylor onto a pile of chairs. Trent Spears Havoc as he went to hit Taylor with another chair. Sabian hits a Somersault Plancha of his own onto Trent on the outside. The heels toss a bunch of weapons into the ring and Havoc throws a ladder at Trent’s face.

Havoc wedges the ladder in between the turnbuckles and Catapults Trent’s face into it to get a nearfall. Sabian tags himself in and the heels work on Trent together. Sabian tags Havoc and Havoc holds his fingers up to Trent’s eyes as Sabian dropkicks Trent in the back in a unique spot.

Havoc tags Sabian again and then they both run into elbows from Trent. Trent goes for a springboard move but dives right into a Backstabber in midair for a nearfall. Chucky T comes but immediately Sabian tosses him to the floor. Sabian sets up a chair and sits Trent down in it before Havoc whips Sabian at Trent. Trent moves and Sabian crashes into the chair. Havoc grabs a chair but Taylor hits a Springboard Back Kick sending the chair into Havoc’s face.

Best Friends sandwich Havoc with chair shots before hugging and then hitting a Half and Half/Mafia Kick on Sabian for a nearfall. Taylor wedges a chair in the turnbuckles but Sabian tosses him headfirst into it. Trent catches Sabian with a Swinging DDT.

Trent slams Sabian into a chair for a nearfall and starts laying into Havoc with one, as well. Trent lays Sabian across the ladder and then climbs up top but Havoc cuts him off and pulls Sabian off the ladder. Havoc attempts to Superplex Trent but he shoves Havoc to the mat. Trent sets up for a Splash but Havoc pulls Trent’s legs out from under him causing Trent to slam into the ladder.

Havoc DVD’s Trent onto two chairs sitting on their side and then Sabian dives off the top with a Ghetto Stomp for a nearfall. Taylor slams Havoc onto a sideways chair and then a Spike Piledriver onto a chair on Sabian. 1…2…NO Ford pulls Taylor off.

Taylor tries to toss Havoc into the ladder but Havoc stops and then backdrops a charging Taylor onto it and it pretty much breaks it in half. Havoc goes to slam Taylor into the ladder again but OC runs out and pulls Taylor off and then throws the chair at him. Ford tries to kick OC but he moves and she kicks Sabian. She charges at OC again but he moves and she crashes into Sabian again.

OC goes to the top and dives off with a Plancha onto Ford and Sabian. Taylor this the Awful Waffle onto a pile of chairs on Havoc for the pin!

Winners: Best Friends via pinfall (Awful Waffle onto chairs)

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

A vignette of Britt Baker at her dental office is shown. It almost is done in a MTV Cribs style. Her makeup artist Rebel, who she calls “Reba,” gets annoyed with her and Baker gets pissed at her too. This is Rebel of TNA/Impact fame. She makes Rebel do another take of her interview with a ton of praise about her.

She has a list of things that are “not okay” that includes glasses wearers, fat people, wannabes and people with a snaggle tooth. A picture of Tony Schiavone is shown for every one of those things.

“The Chairman” Shawn Spears (3-1) vs. Baron Black (0-0)

Black takes Spears down and puts him in a headlock. Spears rolls him over and elbows him in the face. Spears lights Baron up with chops but Baron answers with chops of his own. Spears hits a Spinebuster and then hits him with a series of right hands.

Spears hits a Vertical Suplex but Baron counters a second one and hits a European Uppercut. Black hits a Spinning Backfist but then runs into a boot from Spears followed by the C4. Spears puts Black in a Sharpshooter for the submission.

Winner: Spears via submission (Sharpshooter)

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Taz breaks down Archer’s Blackout.

In a promo, Marko Stunt talks about the beatings he’s taken of late and says that he can take a lot more than what’s been dished out to him.

“The Exalted One” Brodie Lee (3-0) vs. Marko Stunt (4-5)

Brodie tosses Marko around as the match starts and then kills him with a Big Boot. Brodie stands on Marko’s head and then tosses him clear across the ring. Marko attempts a Tope Suicida to the outside but Brodie catches him and then tosses him again before killing him with a Big Boot.

In the ring, Lee goes for a Suplex but Marko lands on his feet and then dives off the top right into a disgusting Black Hole Slam. Brodie hits a Pop-Up Powerbomb for the pin.

Winner: Lee via pinfall (Pop-Up Powerbomb)

In a video package, Jon Moxley talks about how quickly things can change. He says eight weeks ago he was celebrating his World Title win sweaty and bleeding in a sea of fans and it seems like an eternity ago. Moxley says that hopefully he’ll be able to do that once again soon but right now it’s good time to think about the things he should be thankful for.

Moxley says he’s thankful for his wife and DDTs on steel chairs. “They didn’t teach that at Oklahoma did they bitch,” Moxley says directed at Hager. He says he’s most thankful that he’s going to be live on Dynamite next week. Moxley says that anyone that steps up to him does so at their own risk.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

TNT Championship Tournament Semifinals
“The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer (3-0) vs. “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes (7-3) w/Brandi Rhodes

Just as Archer attacks Rhodes my Dish goes out again (we’ve been having some pretty wicked weather the last few weeks). It comes back as Archer Big Boots a chair into Dustin’s face. Dustin is busted open and Archer immediately goes to work on it punching him in the head and slamming him into the ring steps.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Archer slams Rhodes’ face into the timekeeper’s table and then the ring post. Rhodes exchanges chops with Archer but Archer takes him down with a nasty right hand. Archer hits a Snap Suplex and then puts him in a Half Nelson.

Rhodes fights back and hits the Shattered Dreams in the corner but misses a Knee Drop.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Dustin hits a Code Red but can’t make a cover. He starts slapping Archer but Archer just answers right back. They exchange forearms and then Dustin ducks a series of clotheslines and hits a Lariat of his own. Rhodes hits an Uppercut and attempts a Bulldog but Archer blocks it only to run right into a Snap Powerslam.

Rhodes mounts Archer in the corner but Archer goes for a Powerbomb. Rhodes blocks it but Archer goes right back to the well for a Chokeslam. Rhodes counters into a Crossrhodes but Arhcer kicks out at one. A frustrated Rhodes goes to the top and dives right into a Chokeslam! 1…2…NO Rhodes kicks out!

Archer goes to the top and walks the ropes Old School style before hitting a Springboard Moonsault in an insane spot for a nearfall. Archer goes for the Blackout but Rhodes blocks it and goes for another Crossrhodes but eats a second Chokeslam instead for another nearfall. Rhodes counters into a rollup for a nearfall of his own.

Archer destroys Rhodes with a Big Boot and then rips off the top turnbuckle. Archer slams Dustin into the exposed turnbuckle repeatedly. QT Marshall runs out and acts like he’s going to throw in the towel but Cody stops him. Archer grabs Rhodes by the head and slams him into the mat repeatedly before pinning him.

Winner: Archer via pinfall
