According to a new report from F4WOnline, U.S. Olympic gold medal wrestler, NCAA champion and Dan Gable award winner Gable Steveson has signed with WWE.
There are no other details at this time on the terms of the contract. It is also not known if this now means that Gable is done at the University of Minnesota. He is the winner of two Big Ten Conference titles and is a two-time All-American.
Steveson, 21, was in attendance at last month’s SummerSlam in Las Vegas, where he was said to have met with Vince McMahon.
Steveson won gold his first-ever gold medal at the recent Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, which raised his profile. It is unclear if he intends go into MMA in addition to professional wrestling, which is something he has talked about in the recent past.
Steveson took to Twitter earlier this morning (see below) with a tweet of “Just Put the pen to paper…”
