Auschwitz Memorial calls WWE ‘Shameless’ for using its image to promote WM 39 match

During Night One of WrestleMania 39, WWE apparently used footage from the Auschwitz concentration camp to promote the match between Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio.

The footage appeared in the video package that aired during the WrestleMania Night One kick-off show last Saturday. However, an edited version of the video package with the image removed aired during the main show.

The footage used was supposed to be where Dominik did his hard times after he was arrested for harassing his family.

Rey defeated his son in the match at WrestleMania 39 Night One.

Auschwitz Memorial Museum took to Twitter on Wednesday to say that image used to promote a WWE match is hard to call “an editing mistake”. They went on to say that exploiting the site that became a symbol of enormous human tragedy is shameless and insults the memory of all victims of Auschwitz.

As of this writing, WWE has not commented on the Twitter post from the Auschwitz Memorial Museum.
