Mistico Wins IWGP Jr. Title!
On 08/15 in Japan Mistico was able to win the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship from Tiger Mask IV becoming only the 2nd Mexican to ever win the belt (Juventud Guerrera was the first). Mistico will bring the belt back to Mexico and most likely be defending it against Jushin Liger next month! Also, in the opener CMLL star Shigeo Okumura teamed with Giant Bernard & Karl Anderson in a losing effort against Wataru Inoue, Prince Devitt, & Kazuchika Okada. Mistico’s match itself wasn’t very long (ran about 13 minutes) but they worked well together and put on a good match. The following are pics from Mistico’s title win against Tiger Mask:

No Limit & Okumura Want Trios Title Shot
The Japanese stars of CMLL, No Limit (Tetsuya Naito & Yujiro) and Shigeo Okumura, said in an interview with Box y Lucha this week that they wanted and deserved a CMLL World Trios Title shot against the champs Hijo del Fantasma, Hector Garza, & La Mascara. Okumura called their feud with them as a “Japan vs. Mexico War” and said that it was in full effect. Also, Yujiro made a challenge to Black Warrior for a Hair Match due to Warrior “betraying” him back at Infierno en el Ring. Yujiro says that he proved his greatness by staying in the cage and destroying the Mexicans while the Mexicans were showing their cowardice by running and from the cage.
Amapola Wants to Unify Women’s Titles
CMLL World Women’s Champion, Amapola, spoke to Box y Lucha this week and made the bold statement of claiming to be the greatest female wrestler in the world and then challenged Princesa Blanca to unify Amapola’s World Women’s Title with Blanca’s Mexican National Women’s Title.

X-Pac Levaes AAA?, Konnan Restarting La Legion
In this week’s Wrestling Observer they said that X-Pac had left AAA after coming home to America for some INDY shows and a Comic Con in Chicago on August 8th. Pac hasn’t been in AAA since July so it looks like he has left once again. Hopefully is all well with Sean Waltman. Also, The Wrestling Observer stated that Konnan would be restarting his La Legion faction this time with possibly Alex Koslov, Teddy Hart, La Hermandad, & Nikki Roxx to start off. Great, so the TripleMania Cage Match meant absolutely nothing. Sounds about right.
AAA to Start Point System Tournament
The Tournament that will start this week at this week’s taping from AAA’s new Fox Sports show “Lucha Libre Premier” (standings and results below) will be the Lucha Libre Premier Tournament.. It will be a Tournament based on a point system. A win in a team earns the team 3 points, whoever picks up the actual pin earns 3 points for themselves, the best wrestler of the night gets 1 point, and DQ’s will cost the person who gets DQ’ed a point. I can already tell this will be a headache.
Lucha Libre Premier Tournament Standings
1) Rain (9)
– Jack Evans (9)
– El Mesias (9)
– El Elegido (9)
– Marco Corleone (9)
– Dr. Wagner Jr. (9)
2) Octagoncito (6)
– Sexy Star (6)
– Rocky Romero (6)
– Pimpinela Escarlata (6)
3) Mari Apache (3)
– El Zorro (3)
– Mascarita Divina (3)
Still don?t know if this is for a championship or not.

5) Chessman & Cibernetico def. Charly Manson & Marco Corleone
6) Bull Terrier Match: Dr. Wagner Jr. fought El Mesias to a NO CONTEST
* NOTES *
– AAA’s TV Show on Sunday on Televisa wasn’t broadcasted for some reason and at this taping Televisa’s announcers weren’t on the show. Instead Konnan showed up with Aruro Rivera and said he had a legal loophole to get back into AAA. He and Rivera then did the commentary for the show. Not sure what’s going on with AAA and Televisa or if the Fox Sports deal means Televisa has parted ways with AAA.
– Cibernetico attacked Mesias & Wagner in the Main Event to cause the No Contest.

5) AAA Cruiserweight Title #1 Contenders Loser Leaves Town Cage Match: Rocky Romero vs. Jack Evans vs. Teddy Hart vs. Alex Koslov vs. Extreme Tiger vs. Sugi San
* NOTES *
– Boy, is that Main Event jacked up. Okay so first off Extreme Tiger is the current Cruiserweight Champion yet he’s in the #1 Contenders Match. Everybody else that will be in the Cruiser Title Match at “Verano” is in this match EXCEPT Crazy Boy so either this is a screw up or Crazy Boy is winning the belt. Also, the loser of this match is out of AAA but I don’t really see any of them leaving. Sugi would be the obvious choice but last I heard he was staying in AAA for a year and he’s a part of the newly formed La Yakuza. D-MEX is kind of in shambles right now and X-Pac has been M.I.A. for a few weeks so maybe Rocky is going back to America. Just really confusing.

Pierrothito got the win but then used a bunch of foul language after the match which is something that usually isn’t tolerated in CHIKARA.

– CHIKARA decided to go ahead with a rematch between the Lucha Minis from the previous night instead of the tag match that was supposed to go on at Night 2. Instead Skayde teamed up with his former student (Quackenbush) to take on Frightmare & Turbo in what was said to be an awesome lucha showcase.
– The ring was actually broken during the Golden Dream Triple Threat Trios and it was said to be an incredible matchup.
– In the finals Player Dos became the 7th Young Lions Cup Tournament winner and his partner Player Uno walked out and clapped for his buddy at first but then walked off shaking his head.

– Tiger Mask just dropped the IWGP belt to Mistico and is teaming up with him on this card. I’m guessing he will probably make an appearance in CMLL as well.
– I’m not positive but I’m pretty sure that Rey Bucanero is not ready to return to the ring yet and I believe December was his target return date. Either he was able to get back much quicker with great rehab or he is rushing himself which could be very dangerous for him. I hope he’s 100% if he’s actually going to be in this match.
– The Main Event is yet another big match between the two rivals (Dragon vs. his student). Last year Dragon took the mask of Ohara when he was Dark Dragon and in December Ohara took the NWA International Jr. Heavyweight Title from Ultimo.

AAA 08/21 “Verano de Escandalo” Predictions
1) Psycho Circus (Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, & Zombie Clown) vs. La Yakuza (Kenzo Suzuki, El Oriental, & Sugi San)
PREDICTION: I have to go with the Clowns. They haven’t lost yet so I doubt they start now.
2) AAA Cruiserweight Title 5-Way: Extreme Tiger (c) vs. Jack Evans vs. Rocky Romero vs. Teddy Hart vs. Alex Koslov
PREDICTION: This one is interesting because all 5 are slated to be in a Cruiserweight Title #1 contenders match a week later. I’m going with with Evans winning the belt.
3) AAA Tag Titles TLC Match: La Hermandad 187 (Nicho & Joe Lider) (c) vs. El Elegido & Gronda II
PREDICTION: This match has the potential to be a train wreck, I’m going with the champs.
4) La Parka Jr., Marco Corleone, & Octagon vs. La Wagnermania (Silver King, Electroshock, & Ultimo Gladiador)
PREDICTION: The tecnicos are definitely taking this one especially with Octagon making one of his few and far between appearences here.
5) Super Libre: Charly Manson vs. Chessman
PREDICTION: This could be the show stealer, I would rather it be a straight up singles match instead of Street Fight though. Chessman gets the win.
6) Mask vs. Hair Steel Cage Match: Aerostar & Fabi Apache vs. Billy Boy & Sexy Star
PREDICTION: I see Sexy dropping her mask in this one.
7) AAA World Title Triple Threat Cage Match: Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs. Cibernetico vs. El Mesias
PREDICTION: I’m guessing that Ciber was promised another title run when he re-signed but Wagner hasn’t had the belt for very long. I’m sticking with the Champ on this one.
