Video: Former WWE star Muhammad Hassan returns to the ring in New York on Saturday

Former WWE star Muhammad Hassan (Mark Copani) made his return to the wrestling ring for the first time in 13 years this past weekend in Amsterdam, New York.

Hassan, walking out to his previous WWE theme music and character name, wrestled for Dynasty Pro Wrestling against Papadon in a full match uploaded to YouTube.

The Muhammad Hassan character first debuted on WWE television back in November of 2004 featuring Shawn Daivari as his manager. The character created controversy during a storyline on Smackdown featuring The Undertaker that saw five “masked terrorists” attack and choke Undertaker with piano wire in the ring.

A terrorist bombing then took place in London the day the segment aired, causing UPN to permanently ban the character from Smackdown. The character was officially written off WWE television after Hassan lost to The Undertaker in a match at the Great American Bash PPV in July of 2005, with Hassan parting with the company on good terms.
