ESPN’s Brett Okamoto is featuring an interview (above) with UFC President Dana White following Saturday’s UFC 230 PPV in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
White was asked if current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is still the next planned opponent for UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.
“Should be. I can’t predict anything. Brock and I haven’t talked in a little while. You know, he was doing his WWE stuff. We’ll see.”
When asked if he had heard from Lesnar over the weekend, White indicated he didn’t. Lesnar had been working for WWE in Saudi Arabia the day before at Crown Jewel.
As reported on yesterday, Cormier was asked directly about Lesnar during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. Cormier joked that he wanted Lesnar to bring his new WWE championship if they fight because he also wanted some WWE gold.
Back in July, Lesnar showed up at UFC 226 and confronted Cormier inside the octagon after he defeated Stipe Miocic to become the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. Shortly afterwards, Lesnar re-entered USADA testing and has since been tested six times.
