CNBC’s Elizabeth Schulze interviewed WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon at the Web Summit in Lisbon on Tuesday.
During the discussion, a comparison of WWE to Disney was brought up and Stephanie doesn’t think that business comparison is very far off.
“10-20-30 years from now, there’s no reason we can’t be as big [as] or bigger than Disney. Now that’s a tall order, especially given recent transactions. However, there’s no reason why we can’t get there. You have to dream big, have big, bold goals, and go after them.”
An article by The Big Lead on USA Today notes WWE currently has a market cap of $5.8 billion, far below Disney’s which is currently sitting at $172.7 billion.
Speaking of McMahon, she released a clip of “Carpool Karaoke” along with Triple H.
Finally…our episode of @CarpoolKaraoke has come to the @AppleTV app! 😃 Check out @TripleH singing "Bust A Move", @BraunStrowman "feeling like a woman", and find out which female @WWE Superstar is the biggest flirt! (Just please don’t judge my singing!) pic.twitter.com/e6p4FXMTQh
