After taking part in a non-title match last week against WWE Champion, 205 Live star Mustafa Ali will now be part of the Smackdown Live brand going forward.
It was confirmed during tonight’s Smackdown Live that Ali has been officially added to the Smackdown roster in what is expected to be the beginning of many changes involving both RAW and Smackdown Live in the coming months.
Ali took part in a tag team match to close the show earlier tonight in Fresno, teaming with AJ Styles against WWE Champion Daniel Bryan and Andrade “Cien” Almas. The team of Ali and Styles were got the win in the main event, with Ali pinning Bryan.
As reported earlier, another big change was announced when Paige was removed from her role as the General Manager of Smackdown Live as announced by Shane McMahon at the top of the show. Vince McMahon also made an appearance and took on an “authority” role booking a Smackdown Women’s Championship match between Asuka and Naomi.
