Former TNA Wrestling owner Dixie Carter congratulates EC3 on main WWE roster call up

WWE EC3

Former TNA Wrestling owner Dixie Carter took to her Twitter yesterday to congratulate EC3 (Ethan Carter III) on being called up to the main WWE roster from NXT, signing her post as “Aunt D”, and noting how “proud” she is of him for this accomplishment.

EC3 was featured in a video on both this week’s RAW and Smackdown as one of several NXT stars’ coming to the main roster from NXT.

EC3 signed with WWE in 2009 and wrested in WWE’s then developmental company Florida Championship Wrestling under the ring name of Derrick Bateman.  He also competed in NXT from 2010 to 2013.  He was released from WWE in May 2013.

He then made his debut as heel at the TNA Bound For Glory Pay Per View October 20, 2013 as Dixie Carter’s spoiled nephew under ring name of Ethan Carter III, later going by EC3.

During his time in TNA/Impact Wrestling EC3 held the TNA/Impact Wrestling/Impact Grand Championship Heavyweight Title belts.

EC3 was released from his Impact Wrestling contract on January 13, returning to the NXT brand, sitting in the audience at the TakeOver: Philadelphia Pay Per View during Royal Rumble weekend.  He later confirmed he signed with WWE and make his official debut on the March 28 episode of NXT as a heel interrupting NXT General Manager William Regal during his announcement regarding the NXT North American Championship.
