“Fighting With My Family” posts strong start in limited weekend box office release

The Wrap is reporting that “Fighting With My Family” posted a solid release in its limited four screen release over the weekend ahead of the film’s full nationwide release in theaters this Friday February 22 and release in the the United Kingdom on February 27. 

The report also indicated that over the three day period of the film’s limited release which began last Friday, the film made a total of $131,625 between two screens each in Los Angeles and New York.  The total number breaks down to $32,906 per screen.  

WWE posted a short video clip (view above) from the film with current Smackdown star Zelina Vega playing the part of former WWE star and Diva’s Champion AJ Lee confronting Paige during her WWE debut on the April 7, 2014 episode of Monday Night RAW.  Lee ending up putting the Diva’s Championship on the line against Paige who would go on to defeat Lee and capture the Diva’s Championship in her RAW debut.

The film which focuses on the life and wrestling career of WWE star Paige was produced by WWE Studios and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and is released under Metro Goldwyn Mayer.
